Wow - what an adventure! Thanks to all the tips I learned here, and to TGM, we had an awesome time!
We left home on Saturday, May 20th and arrived in Orlando at 8:45 pm. NEVER again will I take a late flight w/ kids (6, 4.5, 22 mos). We decided to get our luggage ourselves and take it with us on DME. At 10:15, yep 90 minutes later, we were just LEAVING for the Poly. It then took FOREVER to check in - I have no idea why, but we finally got to our room at 11:45pm. The kids were a mess and finally got to sleep after 12:30am.
Then we were up in time to get to MK for opening. It was wonderful! Thanks to TGM, we made it through the park w/ less than a 10 minute wait anywhere (except for Dumbo - first ride and the longest wait - 20 minutes)! We soon realized that the stroller situation would have to be changed. We brought the regular stroller for DD22mos, and then an umbrella stroller for the other 2 to share. Well, that just didn't go over well. DS6 has a broken arm and I was on a mission anyway, so we rented a double stroller for the duration of our park visits. That was the best decision ever! The rest of the day was a breeze even though the park was CROWDED! We had dinner at Crystal Palace- all 4 characters were at our table in no time! Then home, kids swam and were in bed by 8 pm!
Day 2 was again at MK - followed day2 of TGM and again, even though the crowds were WORSE than Sunday, the lines were minimal! Lunch at Tony's, dinner at Chef Mickey! Kids in bed by 8:30pm!
Day 3 was at AK. Kids were tired and cranky - and not that impressed. It was cloudy and HUMID, but we saw everything there was to see. Ate dinner at Rainforest Cafe and kids were in bed by 9!
Day 4 - BACK to MK and followed TGMs day1 plan again - just for the morning. Today was Wed and the crowds were smaller, so it was nice. Today we finished off EVERYTHING at MK - we did it ALL! Lunch at the Castle, went back to Poly after - kids swam, we had dinner at Kona, and then went back for the parade and fireworks.
Day 5 - Sea World - it was HOT! Again the kids were looking for thrill rides and weren't so into feeding the sea lions. Although we really liked it. Watched the Shamu show and saw all the animals. They have a kiddie area now and that was really nice. Small roller coaster, climbing areas, etc... I actually wish we could've spent more time there, and maybe when the kids are older they will do better there. Also, being the last day - they were worn out. We got back to the hotel around 5, then dinner at O'Hanas and off to bed.
Day 6 - checked out of Poly
Breakfast at O'Hanas - yummy! Then went to Downtown Disney - hottest day of all and we are all grateful for the weather we had earlier in the week! Back to Poly so DME can pick us up at 3:45 for a 6:40pm flight. We arrive at the airport by 4:30 and our flight is DELAYED by TWO hours. Again - never flying late w/ small kids.
We had a wonderful time and I'm just amazed at how smoothly everything went - all of our dinner reservations were right, the park plan worked, etc... except for the flights, it was perfect!
