Got back late last night from an awesome 9 night stay (our second time here) at Wyndham Bonnet Creek. Love this resort so much! I'm still shocked at how inexpensive it is, especially considering its location.

Checked in on the 23rd and requested a pool/lake view. Couldn't accommodate us, but I was happy with our room on the 4th floor of Tower 3. View was mostly of a golf course. Only complaint was that we could hear the a/c or generators from the hotel while out on the balcony. Room was updated - granite countertops, clean furniture, etc. Checked in a 3 but room wasn't ready 'til 3:40.

We've spent 5 nights in building 5, 5 in building 2, and 9 in building 3. I really prefer the #1, #2, #3 side of the resort because it seems much less crowded.

Spent a lot of time in the pools (our favorites are the "blue slide" pool between 2 and 3, the hotel pool, and the lazy river at the main pool. Played mini-golf once, and happened upon Curious Creatures (or something similar) doing an outdoor presentation one afternoon.

Had a delicious lunch at the outdoor hotel restaurant, enjoyed yummy pizza/breadsticks/salad in our room one night from the onsite pizza joint, and had a decent lunch on our arrival day at the take-out place in the main bldg.

Enjoyed lots of Pina Coladas many afternoons poolside, and Starbucks coffee from the hotel lobby each morning.

Really love having all the space to spread out, the in-room washer/dryer, and the ability to make an occasional breakfast/dinner. Can't imagine ever staying somewhere else! (Unless I hit the lottery, in which case I'll be staying in a 2-bedroom villa at the Boardwalk!)

I'm glad you had a wonderful stay. We probably crossed paths as we just returned yesterday from a 4 night trip at Wyndham Bonnet Creek. It is a beautiful resort, well appointed, tremendous location with surprisingly good food. This was my 3rd stay at WBC and I want to love it but....
There's always an issue when we stay there. During our first trip, we couldn't check into our room until after 6:30 pm and the resort was so crowded we had to go across the lake to find 2 chairs at the pool. When we did find a spot, it was near a maintenance man jack hammering concrete. During our second trip, within 2 hours of checking into our room, 2 other couples used keys to enter our room. Our room had been assigned to multiple other couples. It was freaky. During our 3rd trip (last week), the first room we checked into was still in the process of being cleaned when we entered. Sheets in a pile, bathroom 1/2 cleaned, all beds stripped. We then were assigned another room which ended up having plumbing problems. Essentially a puddle formed in front of the washer/dryer. Maintenance came up 3 times during the stay and even when we left, the puddle (3' x 4') stayed.
Tell me it's me. Tell me it's unusual to have these experiences. WBC seems to be a beautiful resort that's poorly managed. Sometimes owners will rent their units for prices that are impossible to pass up but still, I don't know if we'll return. :3dglasses

I think things can happen at all resorts, but it's not just you. We had a 3 bedroom presidential. We arrived at 3:30 and we told the unit would not be ready until 4:30. We decided not to wait and had a late lunch at the hotel. Returned at 5:00 and still not ready. They said it was because the presidential units take longer to clean and usually were cleaned last??? This made no sense to us. We finally were given keys at 6:00. It is just a very looong day when you have been traveling. Our unit was fine. No major issues other than 2 light bulbs needed to be replaced and cleaning crew left walmart bags in the kitchen cabinet. We did notice in our tower (6) that guests left bagged trash in the halls rather than taking it to the trash room. Maybe that is something they do in the presidential units. We took ours to the trash chute.

Oh, no! I haven't had those issues, but I would certainly feel the same way as you do if I had! I forgot to mention that both our toilets were broken when we checked in (one ran constantly after flushing, and the other wouldn't flush at all). I didn't feel like dealing with maintenance that night, so I just took the lids of the tank and flushed them "manually!" I called the front desk the next day in the a.m. and they were fixed when we returned that night.

We just concluded a stay on May 4th, in a 3-BR in tower 5. This is the 2nd time we've been in tower 5 and we love it because of the lazy river outside.

Overall, it was a great stay, but did have two complaints.

We showed up around 3PM to check-in and were told there were no clean rooms yet as check-in is not until 4PM. OK, no problem there, but I asked if a room was likely to free up by 4 and they said "honestly, no." They took my cell phone and ASSURED me that they would call me when a room was ready. We headed to Downtown Disney to eat and do some shopping. 6:00PM rolls around and still no call from WBC. We decide to head back as two hours past scheduled check-in is starting to get ridiculous, especially with a kid who is starting to get cranky. I wait in line again and they do have a room available, but no excuse as to why they didn't bother to call me as they said they would.

Second issue--the Wi-Fi at WBC is getting worse year by year. HORRIFIC signal strength in Tower 5 to the point where you can't even get a signal depending on which room in the 3-BR you are in. When you do get a signal it is still barely useable. And as Wi-Fi is the only choice, bringing your own router is not going to help. A few times I served up a hot-spot on my older 3G blackberry and it worked better and faster than their Wi-Fi. I truly, truly, truly hope that they make some improvements in this area. I understand that on vacation not a lot of people may care about Internet access, but it is very important to my family based on our lines of work, and our recreation patterns.

I think things can happen at all resorts, but it's not just you. We had a 3 bedroom presidential...

A few years ago, one of my daughters and I stayed in a villa at Disney's Saratoga Springs DVC resort, had a nice time and thought that the accommodations were perfectly fine. A few weeks later, I read a review from someone who identified their villa by number at Saratoga Springs - it was the same one that we'd stayed in - and complained about tiles off the wall and, I think, damage to the jacuzzi. She'd stayed in the villa two weeks after we did so someone did some damage in that week in between (really, it wasn't us!).

So, yes things can happen quickly that can taint a vacation or a resort for a guest. I'd feel jinxed about multiple problems at one resort over different trips, though it's just coincidental.
