Just got back last night. The stay the the Swan was great.
We had connecting rooms 359 & 360. One king & one w/two queens. The rooms overlooked the parking lot and could see Boardwalk & ToT. There was NEVER any noise from cars below. The rooms were both very clean and housekeeping did a great job every day.
I had requested a refrigerator and they acknowledged that when we checked in, but it was not delivered. I called and cancelled, but still added on bill which they took off at checkout. 12.00 per day + tax. We valet parked upon arrival then self-parked after that. 9.00 + tax per day. They did not charge us for the valet parking. 16.00 + tax. I had shipped a box of stuff down prior to arrival and they handed me paper telling me how to retrieve. They charged me a 6.00 handling fee which was ok, but when I called to ask about doing this, they did not mention this fee to me. Does Disney operated resorts have handling charge for shipping to them? Going back in Nov. and would like to know.
The only thing I didn't like was that we had to walk to the Dolphin to get sodas/snacks for the room. The Dolphin was packed & noisy so glad we were not staying there, just would have been nice to have convenient store.

What were the conditions of the rooms? We read on trip advisor that the rooms were run down and in desparate need of upgrading.

I'm curious how old this review at trip advisor is - all the rooms have been recently (couple years) refurbished.

Despite the renovations a few years back, there's a thread on this board from a few weeks ago stating that they are once again renovating the rooms. Someone posted photos and there was new carpeting (different from when we were there in May this year) the walls were either painted or re-wallpapered and a few other differences. It looked great!

The Swan/Dolphin is good about switching rooms if you get one that seems "run down." We were offered a room switch when the kids' naps were disturbed from construction noise. It's a big hotel, so there's lots of rooms and I find the service to be much better than at the Disney deluxe resorts.

The carpet in both rooms looked brand new. The bathrooms were also in good condition.

I stayed at the Swan the middle of May and had a really really run down room...won't go into details....it was room 233. I don't post on TA, though! Anyway, the executive housekeeper phoned me about a week after we returned and apologized up and down for the room and the other issues we had. (many) She told me they are redoing the Swan rooms and have started on the higher floors and working their way down. I was surprised because I knew they had been redone in the past few years, but they are redoing them again. I know when I posted this in May people didn't believe me, but I got it directly from Swan employees. I am interested in seeing the pics of new rooms.

We had that package delivery charge, too. THEN they couldn't even find my package, haha. The Disney resorts do not charge a fee.
