Hey everyone! We just got back from our Disney Vacation. We had a great time and definitely enjoyed Fort Wilderness. We had our motorhome and parked at campsite 1812. I originally requested loop 1300 to be near the campfire program, but somehow they had no recollection of this. Our site had full hookup but no cable. It was quiet, you couldn't hear any buses, and it was right by the canal. Awesome campsite, will request it next time.

Hurricane Dennis sent some good thunderstorms our way with some strong winds that shook the motorhome, but we all survived. A tree fell on someone's motorhome, but Fort Wilderness was very fast to fix the problem. Mosquitos didn't bother us much, because we were inside most of the time.

Unfortunately we did not get to experience the campfire program due to complete and utter exhaustion by that time. The heat really takes all your energy away. I feel sorry for those people camping in tents. How do they do it? I would of died of heat exhaustion.

All in all, we really enjoyed ourselves. Great area. We rented a golf cart for the week and we really enjoyed this. We also rented a car for our transportation so we wouldn't have to wait for the buses. Next time we will come in March to avoid the heat. Any questions?

I was glad to hear that you liked the 1800 loop. We are planning on going in October and asking for that loop because someone else said it was quiet and away from the buses that travel around. They also said it was a little on the remote side but that's OK with us because we will be there for our 25th anniversary and our kids are grown so remote is just fine. We'll have a golf cart also.

Do you have any pictures of the site you were in? Is it wide enough for a slideout and an awning? Thanks.

Here are some pics of site 1812. We were able to fit our 35ft motor home which has an awning and two slideouts, our rental car, and our golf cart. Now this is a pet loop and this site is right next to the pet walk. We have no pets ourselves, but we never heard a dog bark or stepped on anything gross. Everyone is very good about cleaning up after their pets. This site is pretty remote so having a golf cart will do good. Hope you have a great trip and anniversary! :wizard:

Well that looks just great. Thanks for the pictures, we'll do what we can to request that site. Looks nice and roomy.

Glad to hear you had a good time.

We were there in April and had requested the 1300 loop. We got there a day early and they put us in the 1700 loop. We ended up staying in the 1700 loop because the sites were bigger. The buses ran right by but after the first day you learn to ignore them.
