Just realized we are flying into the wrong airport

UGH! Could anything else go wrong when planning this trip?!? I have tickets for $59 each way through Allegiant Air. But they are flying into Orlando/SANFORD which isn't the right airport.

So that means I can't do the Magical Express. :sad2: I've only flown once and DH has never flown. What do you suggest we do? Rent a car? Take a taxi? :help:

renting a car is cheapest if you can get a good one way rate and drop off at one of the locations near WDW. Shuttles and taxis run close to/over $100 - Edd can probably advise you on cost for those as well as car service

I have checked the price of some towncar services from this airport and it seems like it is almost double the price from Sanford than from MCO. Is it a lot further away?

yes, it is - it can be 45 min or more to WDW depending on if you take 417 or I-4 and time of day. I recommend 417 (toll road)

Are there any shuttle buses that run? I seem to remember, back when Allegient was still flying out of Worcester, they had some kind of shuttle to WDW, but I could be wrong.

Here's a link to my thread from late last night ... got some great advice. http://disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1395091

BTW - we decided to rent a car for the day we arrive, drop it at Disney and then rent again on the day we return. A little less convenient than being dropped at our resort but it was the least costly. We opted to go with National. I've rented from them before and had no trouble at all.

Good luck and have a great trip!!

What are you worried about. You didn't pay as much as if you had got the tickets into MCO. You will still save money, even after you pay for a car service.

Edd, I disagree. It makes no sense to "save" money by flying into Orlando Sanford and then splurging for a car service. Whatever you saved just went right out the window. Ideally those flying into SFB had planned to rent a car for their entire stay anyway, regardless of airport. But two one day car rentals to and from the airport and to and from Disney is the only way to salvage the great airfare deal. Keep in mind that a one day rental is 24-hours which means you can return the car the next day up to the time of day the rental initiated, which means you can put the car to good use. Two rentals is a hassle, for sure, but not that big of one.
