Just put down deposit for SSR !!!

Hi All,
I have no one to share my enthusiasm with...DH is tired of hearing about it, and my family thinks DVC is a dumb way to spend money. My dad and his GF are going on the repo cruise with us, after that I think my dad will realize how great the Disney product is. Anyway...my plan is to spend 2005 and 2006 (UY June) points at HH for Mon-Thur in July 06...2 bedroom and studio, DH, DS, myself, dad, GF, and my sister and her two boys...then have 70 points to play with...DH is AD AF so we can use SOG for weekends. Does this sound doable ? I am extremely conservative financially...but I love the DCL cruise and I am guessing that DVC service is the same ???? Feedback, comments, much appreciated.

Congratulations!!! You are always welcome to share your enthusiasm with us, we always share it with each other. I don't have a lot of advise or feedback because I just became a DVC member at SSR, also, and haven't made my first DVC trip. But I know how you feel, I think I've driven everyone at work nuts talking about it, thank goodness my bf loves me, because I talk about it ad naseum and I'm sure he'd be ready to disown me soon

Congratulations on your purchase. The only thing to be aware of with your plan is that you will need to make reservations for HHI at the 7 month mark. July is very busy at HHI and you may not get exactly what you are looking for because all of the owners of HHI points can make their reservations at 11 months.

I feel bad putting a damper on your excitement, but it is sometimes hard to use different resort points for more popular times of the year at some of the resorts. You never know though, you might be able to do it.

Just to test it out, after you close, maybe you should call MS and see if anything is available for July of 2005. That will give you some indication of what 2006 may be like.
