After watching Poly resale prices climb and fearing it would be sold out direct, I pulled the trigger and bought 200 direct. I had always planned on purchasing resale, but contracts are running 145-155 a point, so I sucked it up, and I paid 163.5 a point direct. I feel like I waited too long to buy and should have done it awhile back but we wanted to save and avoid financing. Now I need some advice...

A Feb UY was the best fit for our vacation style. So if I'm understanding, I have 2017 Feb UY points available, and I can not bank them because it is after Sept? I could swear my agent said I could but when I log on it says I cant. I will call him but he is off till Mon, so in the meantime, I figured I would ask the experts!

If I cant bank the 2017pts and I am not able to personly use the points by Feb. I am thinking of using David's and renting out the points. Has anyone had issues getting rid of 200pts in 4 months? I hate to see them go to waste!

Since this is a new direct purchase, if you call Member Services they should be able to bank those points for you.

I just bought a small contract of direct points Poly with a Feb Use Year last week. No problems calling MS to bank them. Just tell them you bought direct after the banking deadline. It took about a day after the call to show that they were banked when I signed into my account.

Your guide can bank them. And will. Especially if you bought within the last 10 days and can cancel the contract if he doesn't.

But. It shouldn't need coercion. This is a standard benefit that guides provide: banking first year points even after deadline.

Don't call MS. Call your guide.

The sales agent puts an exception on for member services. You just call up MS and they do it. My agent just told me this with my 25 point add on I just bought.

This.

Don't need your guide... just call MS.

Thanks, Everyone!!!
I will give call my guide on Monday when he is back in the office and Bank the points.
I can't wait to go back to Disney as a DVC owner!

Probably. But.

The guide should have offered to do this in the first place and member services has this idea that they can give members a one time freebie on mistakes like banking errors.

I'd hate for someone in member services to consider this that one time freebie when the guide should have inquired and arranged for banking those points as part of the sale.

I'd call the guide and get him to do it. That's his/her job.

This was written into the POS or some other document a few years ago. Previously it was an exception but no longer and MS can take care of it. I believe it is their job, not the guides. The guide would likely just have to contact someone to have it done.

My guide specifically told me we had to contact MS to do the banking of our points when we bought after the banking window had closed.

Same. It was quick and probably could have been done during our welcome call, but we had already taken care of it.
