We just purchased APs tonight for our trip next week. Our local Disney store manager did not seem to know much about these.
1. First she told us that they do not need to be activated and they are ready to go. From reading them and from these boards I know that is not the case.
2. I called the 800 number on our receipts and the person who answered (who was not very helpful) said you can only activate them at the parks, and no where else. I thought we could activate them in Downtown Disney at Guest Services. The passes themselves say they can only be activated at the parks. Which is correct?

Any help would be appreciated.

1. If they're bought at the Disney Store, then they are vouchers, and must be activated before use. The actual APs look like paper or the tyvek material.

2. You can activate it at the park or at guest relations at DTD.

The Disney Store castmembers were probably thinking of the park hopper tickets, which I believe actually are the real tickets when swiped at the Disney Store. The APs though, work a little differently, and they probably didn't know that. Yes, you can activate them at any theme park ticket window, or either of the guest services windows at Downtown Disney from what I've heard.

My Disney specializing TA said Disney is trying to phase out activation anywhere except the parks.

Thank you everyone. I appreciate your help
Has anyone recently activated their pass at DTD?
It would be much easier for us to do it there.

BTW They mean the four major theme parks. We bought PAP's and I wanted to go to TL our very first day but it looks like we have to stop at MK first. :)

about $400 with tax, that does not include the water parks or Disney Quest or Pleasure Island, its more if you want it to include those areas. I also know that the price just went up on March 28th I believe. Dont forget, you should ask for discounts on your room- codes are out now for the Spring through early July. You also get discounts off tours and many restaurants.
