Just promoted!!!(Updated)

After patiently waiting for over 4 years, I found out today that I was promoted to the position of Detective in charge of Youth Services.
I can remember just a little over 3 years ago, arguing with one of our members, on the CB, about being appointed to my DARE officer position. I can honestly say that that position greatly enhanced my opportunity for this promotion! So it was not a waste of time, as it was then put to me!!!

Congratulations! My sister is on the waiting list for detective at Harris County Sheriff's Department in Houston. I'll tell her to be very, very patient.

It was sooooo cool the way that my Chief told me!. She and her husband, (who is also a Captain within the department), are both responsible for getting me involved with the Vacation Club. They both had just returned from their latest trip and we were talking about it in her office. She said that she was in the process of making plans for their August trip, which is when me and my family are going. She asked what building we always stay in at OKW and I told her 63 (which is my old badge number). She asked if I knew where building 115 was and me and her husband both told her that there was no building 115. She kept asking if I was sure, then finally said "well I guess that'll have to be your new badge number then!" It really trhough me for a loop!

Nativetxn, tell your sister that sometimes being patient makes us lose sight of our goal, but it makes it more satifying once we attain it!
