Just off the Wonder in Alaska - quick trip report!

Was this excursion offered via Disney?

One more question, were there any issues with DCL-offered port adventures being unavailable when online check-in opened up?

Thanks.

I can't answer about if that one was offered through DCL, but I will say that in my experience MANY of the Alaskan excursions offered either through the cruiselines or independently have very limited availability - particularly those that involve float planes. So IF a lot of Concierge and/or Platinum and/or Gold and/or Silver (depending on your status with DCL) guests booked them, they may be or have limited availability. If your desired excursion either includes flying and/or looks to be a small number (example: I've seen one I've looked at where the description says "divided between two divemasters with no more than 6 people in each group" which to me indicates the excursion is limited to 12 people though it doesn't SAY that specifically), I'd plan on making that excursion booking my first stop when my window opened up - particularly if your heart is set on it.

Yes it was offered through Disney. They contract with Allen Marine Tours - or something like that. There is no other way to book this kind of excursion as the Wonder doesn't pull into any ports near Tracy Arm / Endicott and you board the smaller boat right from the Wonder. I didn't have any problems finding the excursions that I wanted on DCL. We are gold level so we were able to book a little bit earlier. I actually booked something in every port on the DCL website until I knew exactly what I wanted to do or if I wasn't sure of availability with other shore excursion companies and I ended up cancelling all of them except for the Tracy Arm excursion...and when I went into cancel them there always seemed like there was a lot of availability. The only things I remember selling out fast was the Deadliest Catch tour and some of the fishing tours. Hope that helps. For what it's worth, I almost never use the cruise line offered excursions. I have found the vendors/companies in each port to be a lot less expensive and very reliable. In over a dozen cruises, I have never been left behind or disappointed. :) Dug720 makes a good point though...if there is something that you really want to do, you should book it as soon as your window opens up so that you aren't stressed about it because you have up until 72 hours before the excursion to cancel it without penalty. You aren't charged for it until you actually go on it.
