i sailed three times on the Dream and just got off the Magic. I love the smaller ship size, but I think the Magic is showing her age.
Any questions? Weather was perfect!

Were there Pretzels? How was the aquadunk? Long lines? Was Castaway Cay noticeable less crowded? What areas of ship are showing there age?

I didn't see pretzals. My daughter did the aqua dunk once; it was scary for her!
The last sea day was insanely crowded. Kids were like sardines in the pool and I was accosted by a woman who claimed I stole her chairs that she had saved 45 minutes ago.
Our room was showing signs of age as was the goofy pool- rotting wood etc

Food was delicious and shows were great!

I haven't been back on the Magic since it was re-imagined but I do remember the pools were very crowded but that happened on the Fantasy too. My son is 11 and a bit of dare devel so I think he will love the Aqua Dunk. Did you like Tangled? We are really looking forward to seeing it.

Thanks for the info!

Yes actually. I made a new post just a little bit under yours that was asking for who your captain and cruise director was? Could you help?

We go on our first ever cruise next January on the Magic. How was it showing it's age?

I'm sure he will. My son is 11 & loved it, went on it over a dozen times. I also imagine waits for it are shorter than for AquaDuck, as it's scarier, so fewer people want to ride it. My son was scared the first time, but fantastic Jamaican CM gently reassured him & encouraged him to get on (just as he did many others and me, too). The scary part is waiting to fall. After that, the actual ride isn't scary- the free fall doesn't last long.

Btw, I didn't notice the Magic looking rundown at all- it was beautiful, & we were on it last month.

Being that she just came out of dry dock, how is she showing her age?

Our room showed age as did the pools. The goofy pool specifically.... The deck had rotting wood and it just didn't look as clean and fresh as the Dream. Frankly I expected much more especially post dry dock. Our room had scuff marks, mildew in the bathroom, etc.
I'm not being picky, but compared to the Dream, she is obviously in worse condition.

Tangled was amazing. All the shows were top notch. Better than the Dream, I thought!

Pools are crowded on every Disney cruise. Except the quiet cove on the Magic is 3x better than the dream. I actually swam laps in the pool!

We have spent over 20 days on the Magic since she came out of dry dock. My opinion is that she is in fabulous condition. I saw no signs of her "showing her age" She was more beautiful than ever. We are sailing on the Magic again for the transatlantic in May.

I found the adult pool area on the Magic much more enticing than the adult area on the dream/fantasy. There actually seemed to be more areas to hang out in the sun, and I appreciated the regular design of the pool itself over the adult pool design on the larger ships.

Sorry but our room had mildew, peeling paint, and scuff marks. Never saw that on the Dream.
In addition, while in the pool looking up at the deck you can see the rotting deck and poor condition of the pool lining.
It's a fact and not to be taken personally.

we also just got off the Magic and DH and I both agree that it pales in comparison to the Dream. As PP said, the pool didn't look to be in great condition -- like a pool you might find at any motel. I also saw mildew, peeling paint and scuff marks, both in and out of our stateroom. This is only our 2nd cruise (the Dream being the first) but DH and I were both less than impressed this time. I'm not sure if it's because it was our 2nd and our first was the Dream (like if this was our first cruise, would we be as in awe as we were on the Dream? There's no way to know, I guess......). We both agree we would not do the Magic again.
