DINING

i did not like it...

i will update later

i mean edit

i cant find my journal which has the things to write here...and i cant remember it all

but ask your questions and i will try to find the answer ;)

Glad you had a "magical" time...You are also WAYYY better than me, and you tried escargots...Good for you..Anxious to here more..But now my anniversary outing/dinner is calling me.. :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

ahhh! have fun tonight!

i didnt know how to spell the snails...i recommend if you have a family of 4 or 5 get all the appetizers. it is a lot, but it is worth it. we passed around the plates, so i got to try a lot of new things. it was also a great way to not have to decide what to have ;)

My DD is 12 too. She tried the Escargot in November and she didn't like it too much either. I got pictures of it though. :goodvibes

I'd like to know about the clubs also. My DD is 12 and I'm curious if she'll have fun in there.

if you liked the kid's club, too...did you go to the arcade? I didn't even tell my daughter (7 at the time) that there was an arcade or she would have been there the whole time. She's nine now and "too mature" for the club - did you go? What was your favorite souvenier - assuming you bought one? Thanks for the report from a younger point of view! :thumbsup2

What about Ocean Quest. My DD is interested in this for our cruise in August.

xxpixiedustxx- We are leaving Sat. for the Magic
my kids are dd12(turning13 on ship),ds 9,dd 8. What advice do you have for them? Should they all have sign in out priveleges?Or just the older one?
And what would you say are must dos and can miss?
Thanks!!!! :)

I am 12 also and I was just on the ship with my wonderful fantastic friend PixieDust here!

we had a ton of fun...

I also tried the escargots.... tasted good, but the texture was disgusting.. and just knowing that these were the things my brother likes to go outside and pour salt on...

The club is OK... kind of more geared for the younger children in that age group... I didn't do it... ocean Quest is Ok, but I am not much of a video game player. For the 12 turning 13 year old... GET HER IN THE STACK!!

There was one other 12yo DISer who had a 9yo brother, and two female cousins who were 10 and 8... I hung out with them and Christine a lot :woohoo:

I saw the movie Stick It twice, late at night... it ended at 12:15, 12:30 ish... I saw it once with PixieDust, and once with the other DISer... it was a lot of fun. :woohoo:

MISS YOU CHRISTINE!!!!!!!!!!

Thank you for that review. My DD IS into video games. So, maybe she will have fun there. She really thought the lab was for younger kids last year on the Wonder. She will be 13 2 months after we cruise. I think I read they have to be 1 month from turning an age to go up to the next level. I sure hope she meets someone to hang out with.

rrcoaster- thanks for the info. The stack is for teens right? did you jang out there alot and what were the ages there? Did you find it easy to meet friends?

I didn't do the stack...

but everyone says it is great...

I looked in while we were checking my little brother in there... the 8-9's had hang out time in the stack...

i was also in the elevator place in level 10 that has the stack theme because it ias the enterance to it... Pixiedust, mouseSKIteer and I all tought it looks really cool!

I din't really meet anyone new... just the 2 12yo DISers, the son of one other DISer, and I talkesd to a few other people one night in Ocean Quest...

Thsi was my 3rd cruise, snd I have really never met anyone. I have never really tried, though, and I am not the most outgoing person... i tend to be put off by first impressions, but if you wanted to meet people, I am sure it would be easy! :sunny:

ASK ME A QUESTION... hopefully I can give you the answer

I heard that they will "bump" up into the next age group on a trial basis. If there are no problems they can stay with the older age group. If not, they send them back to the appropriate group.

I am trying it for my September trip. DS will be 7 but he refuses to go to the Club. Only wants the Lab. Hoping that what I heard was true.

ker bear- that is what they do

forgot to answer this earlier... stack is for 13-17yos... big range

Thanks! I'm glad to read things from a 12 year olds perspective. My son loves DCL and wants to do a seven night one. That may be awhile off and I worry he might be too old

Ker Bear... how close to 8 will your son be? The club is VERY young-child oriented, and almost all 7yo, especially close to 8 or mature ones find it boring... DCL seems to be very understanding about this... a little girl at our table for dinner used a trial for a day and then was switched. she was very put out with the club, but absolutely LOVED the lab.

As long as you ask for a trial, and your son behaves appropriately with the older kids, everything becomes permanent...

Oh! my brother was barely 7 and a half on our second cruise, and was switched... it also helps if some one on your thread has a slightly older child... also tell the cast member about your son's older friend, if there is one.

:thumbsup2 Good Luck! :thumbsup2

Yes, that really is a big range. I am very uneasy about my almost 13 yo hanging out with 17 yos

Emily!!!!!! Great report! The girls wanted you to know they miss you, but hopefully we will find a way to get together.

To those reading this thread...Emily did an awesome job describing my dd (turns 8 on 7/16). She was very upset and didn't want any part of the 5-7 group that we had placed her in (other dd is 5 1/2 and LOVED it). We asked about sending her to the next club (had a tablemate friend already in that group- which was the only way the my DD would even consider it) and she was much happier! They have a chance to try it out. You can change their placement twice and then you have to stay put. I am a teacher and believe that if you, as the parent, think your child would be better off in the next appropriate age level and their age is close in range- it is worth asking about and trying out. If there is a question of maturity, then just consider what is best for your child. Review the activities on the weekly guide that is available and it will give you a feel for the appropriateness of the group. Hope this helps.

Very good reports from Christine and Emily - very smart young ladies -

I am very luck to have met them and their families

Whatevery they say, listen to them, they can answer any questions you have about cruising
