My family just finished our very first TA cruise this weekend (and our first trip on the Magic) this weekend. We had an absolutely fabulous time, and I would do this cruise again in a heartbeat. If anyone has any questions about the cruise or the ship, I’ll be happy to answer them!

The EBTA is our favorite cruise! Wanted to be on this one but graduations got in the way. Glad you had fun!

We're looking to do a 2021 EBTA cruise. Do the temps stay relatively comfortable for the duration of the cruise with this itinerary (Miami-Barcelona)?

How were the seas on the way over and did you find the time change on the ship a challenge? Thanks!

I never was bothered by the ship’s motion. They seemed pretty smooth to me. I was on a cruise with way more motion in the Bahamas on the Wonder on 2017. The time change was a little difficult, especially for my husband. Losing an hour three days in a row to start the cruise was rough, but overall, we adjusted pretty well.

It was pretty windy on deck on our sea days, so we didn’t use the pool as much as we thought we would. On sea days, I’d say the highs were usually around 70, but it was cloudy or overcast a lot on our trip -very little rain, but not bright sunny skies. My family isn’t really the type to spend all day at the pool, so we didn’t mind.

I was also on this years EBTA as well as one a few years ago. The southerly route is so smooth compared to the previous northerly route. I'm sure the OP can agree the weather was absolutely fabulous for a crossing.

Did any of you on this cruise get Navigators to post? I am on the WBTA in September and like to see all of the different activities offered on the TA cruises.

Were there enough activities to keep you occupied on the ship? I am looking into doing one of these in the future.

How crowded were the activities? Were you turned away from any?

My family, including kids ages 6 and 8, loved the activities— lots of trivia, drawing classes, character meets you don’t get at the parks. The special entertainers were great and usually had shows in the Walt Disney Theater and Fathoms too. I found some of the shows in Fathoms in the evenings to be really crowded with people “saving seats”. I’m sorry, but one person cannot save seats for a family of four ten minutes before show time. The kids club had a sleepover one night for kids aged 5-12, and my girls really liked it. There were also several pianists, musical duos, and an Irish group playing in the adult and family lounges.

If you've done a Panama Canal cruise could you compare the two and which was is your favorite?

The cruise that just ended offered GT, Florida resident, and Military discounts, but by a week before the cruise, pretty much every room was taken.
Do you recall if the Florida resident discount was offered close to the sail date or further out? Was it inside cabin only? Thanks so much!
