Whoa, this is a long thread! I read about half of it.
Forgive me if this has already been addressed, but I have a question. Suppose the Original Poster wanted to bring 3 friends to
DVC w/ her, and got a one-bedroom or studio. If the ressie was in her husband's name, would Disney claim that made a total of five people (even though her husband wasn't there), and say that was too many for the room size?
Also, let me mention two personal experiences relevant to this. I recently traded into BWV via Interval International. The confirmation from Interval International had my name listed first, followed by my husband's name. When I got to BWV, check-in couldn't find my reservation. Luckily, I had brought the reservation number with me. When they found it, it was listed under my husband's name. (His last name is different from mine.) Dh was actually only with me a short part of the trip, and I would really have preferred the ressie in my own name!
This next comment isn't about the DVC, but it's about another timeshare and it shows that sexism isn't gone. I recently bought two more timeshares (I'm addicted to buying timeshares!) I specifically told the timeshare saleman that I wanted my name listed first, since I handle all the reservations, payments, etc. When we filled out the purchase agreement, I filled in my name first, followed by Dh's. I just got our deeds, and ownership is listed as "Tom S. and wife, Judy S. (With our full last names, of course, which I haven't written here -- they are not the same name.) I'm not too happy about that!
