I have Asperger Syndrome just to let everyone know so if I say something silly then that might be it.
I work part time and really want to get of the disability pension this year. I have worked so hard and that is my big goal this year. So when I say I am wealthy I am not (my wonderful parents are). I can do just about everything. Just looking for some advice for the parks.

What kind of advice are you looking for?
Saving money? Touring?

That would help us give you better advice.

lets see what have you already done?
budgeting is the way to go, but with disney for us to help you we need to know sort of an area of what you like.

if you wanna save money i say start off by checking out the value resorts, and then for tickets i say look at moderate and value crowd times, don't think every day has to be a park day take at least one to just relax and enjoy your resort.

plan a couple of treats if you can afford it and book it
cinderella castle for dinner or be our guest for dinner are great memories

pirates and palls firework voyage is a great way to see magic kingdom fireworks along with a boat ride getting to see the water electrical parade and meeting peter pan captain hook an mr smee

maybe do a tour if you'd like they have several ones to choose from from about the parks to the railroad, to walt disney himself.

must go to magic kingdom at least and then look up the others and see which parks appeal to you the most

definitely remember to book early and take advantage of fastpass+ and book your three fast passes for each park day

while like i said book some nice meals but to keep cheap try and eat at quick service for the most part

know what your triggers are. know what you want to do ahead of time and plan for waits and sometimes shutdowns.. and know your limits.. nothing worse than having a meltdown in line and not being able to articulate to the CM what is happening..

there is an app that allows you to type messages to people when in a meltdown or if you cant talk..its called Emergency chat.. and its says... I gave you my phone because I cant use or process speech right now. but Im still capable of text communication. My hearing and tactile senses are extremely sensitive in this state. so please refrain from touching me. please keep calm and proceed to the next screen that has a simple chat box through which we can communicate ..
its free to download.... and worth just having in case something goes awry.

youtube the rides so you know what you want to do..

get a park map and route out what your priority in each land is.. do a magic morning fastpass machines dont open till the park for general admission opens.
if you are going to WDW you can get fastpass+ which allows you to book your fp well in advance...if doing DL you will get them on the day..

my son has Asperger's and ADHD he wears a hoodie or hat and sunglasses to cut down on visual noise.. he will take his IPod for noise control too. he also needs to move. so loves the fast rides..

if you can try to go at a quieter time of year.. this will cut down on crowds...

not sure what else I can add.. as I dont know which park you are going too... WDW or DL Cal.

Hope you have a great trip.

@nikkislaght Thanks for posting the info on Emergency Chat. I just checked via Google, and it's available for both Android and iOS devices. I have a family member who will definitely appreciate this app.

I don't have any additional advice but wanted to chime in a thank you for sharing about this app. Extreme heat and anxiety can sometimes send me over the edge and my brain starts to shut down. Great app to have. OP I hope you have an awesome trip.

I have 3 teens on the upper end of the spectrum. The best touring advice I have is to know your triggers and have a plan. Everyone is different so you will have to figure out yours (or get help from your parents for this)

For our family crowds are the big thing for 2 of them (and for my husband as well) One hates, hates being touched. I make the plans so I usually have a plan for the day written on a card. I look ahead at menus (problem for the third one) On my card I have a loose plan, go here first, then here, etc and our meal options. We are always at the park before rope drop. At the MK we get there early enough we can stand by the front wall. I always try and get us near something that blocks one side. By about 2-3 we are done for the day and leave the park. I have even written a note on the card about a back path out of crowds to get somewhere or an option for a show or place that will be uncrowded. Knowing we have a plan and a back-up plan helps everyone with crowd problems. Sometimes we carry food though, there is only so much I can do about that.

We have done evenings but usually the crowds are too heavy for us to enjoy the park. If we do evenings my list is even shorter (one thing and a parade or fireworks)

I usually use one of the tour planning websites to make our list so we wait as little as possible.
