My son (4.5 years old) and I area headed to Disney World for our second "just mommy and me" trip. We will be there for 10 nights, Dec. 14th-24th. We were at Pop Century, but I just called and moved us to Riverside, which happened to be available with an Annual Pass discount!

:cool1: :cool1:

I'm excited about being at Riverside. My husband and I stayed there 8 years ago when it was still called Dixie Landings. It was a pretty short trip, though, and we spent most of our times in the parks. I honestly don't remember a lot about the resort. I'd love to hear some of you favorite things to do, see, eat, best areas to request, etc. Any experiences with this resort around Christmas time. How are the decorations?

I know there are often complaints about the bus situation, but I don't think that will be a problem for us. We're pretty patient and I've never had any trouble with Disney busses - and as you can see from my signature, I've stayed almost everywhere. I really don't mind a little waiting, extra stops, etc. We also have a rental car that we can use when we want to.

So, I'd love to hear your thoughts. I don't seem to see much posted here about this resort.

It will always be Dixie Landings to me
It's my favorite resort, the landscaping is beautiful and lush, I really enjoy just walking the grounds. The rooms are pretty, I prefer alligator bayou because I like the rustic feel.

We love POR!!! Hence my sig....We take the kids there every Easter. The food court always has places to sit and decent food, the grounds are gorgeous and we have never had a problem with Mousekeeping. A couple times we had a bus issue, but nothing that would even come close to wrecking our vacation....As far as I'm concerned about that, you just gotta go with the flow with the "little things".......I had really bad service at a Deluxe resort once, what can you do?? Anyway, POR is our fave mod. It just wouldn't be Easter to us if we weren't there!!:goodvibes

My kids love POR! There is a small waterslide at 'Ol Man Island and the quiet pools are great to swim with younger kids and avoid the usually busier main pool. POFQ is a 10-15 minute walk away, and the boat to DTD is very nice.
