getting to go on 3 day in early May - first time cruise without kids. I am all set for the adult beach at castaway cay but not sure what to do in bahamas. would love to see atlantis but seems I've read here before not to do tour. Know some things off limits for non-hotel guests. Not interested in casino but would love just to wonder around the hotel. any recommendations??

look for the threads on the Atlantis you can get a dayroom at a hotel across the streat for about the price of an excursion and it will give you access to all the Atlantis property ...I just dont know the name of the hotel I fond this out after wer got back from our 3 nighter

okay - there has to be someone to help me. we just want to scope out the property to decide if we can make a summer trip here. Want to have freedom to walk hotel and pools, beaches, etc. i know the day room is the way to go. Atllantis or Comfort. we are going 1st week in may. Does our wrist band enable us to parasail (for a price of course). would love to do this BEFORE i send the kids up (9 & 12). Not sure how things in paradise island and feel i am asking stupid questions.

Once you have the wrist bands from Comfort Suites, you can explore the entire Atlantis Resort, including the pools and beach.

If you just want a sneak peak, and do not plan to use the pools or facilities, you can simply walk on the free beach (called Cabbage Beach) and look at the pools. You can rent chairs on the beach from locals...also jet skis and banana boat rides. We've done it both ways...IMHO the Resort is nice, but overrated. We've seen nicer elsewhere for better prices.

I really think you can get a great feel and a flavor for a future trip to Atlantis without all the expense of a day room at Comfort ....

Also, I agree with hookedonmagic.....The Atlantis name carries a premium for what you actually get....

the wife and I stayed on deck 4 and took a nice nap. The kids was at grandma and we relaxed for 4 days
