I booked our 4/17 cruise only 597 days ago....time flies when you read these boards!!!

Only 9 days and we can book our excursions

9 more Saturdays and we will be on board!!

I understand your excitement; each month when we make a payment I've never been so happy to see money leaving my checking account before. LOL We still have 29 weeks to go.

Seaspray, Disney lets you send a payment in every month? I was talking to a TA the other day and she told me that DCL let them know they werent a bank and that they didnt like people to send in more than 4 payments total. I thought this didnt sound right. I planned on doing the same thing your doing and sending in monthly payments.

We've booked through All Seasons Travel and yes, we've been able to call in each month and tell them how much we want to put towards the balance of our cruise. They have our credit card number on file, and I simply give them our name and cruise date and tell them "please use the same credit card that you have on file, for $xxx" and they do! Each month when I do this they send me a new statement (both email AND a paper statement in the real mail) showing all of the payments I've made to date, and the new remaining balance. I know that if you book directly with Disney, you can even go online and make payments on their web site. Which TA told you that Disney doesn't take more than 4 payments? Since when would Disney refuse money? LOL I can kind of see her point, but I don't believe this is Disney's policy; I bet it's her travel agent's policy, if at all.

P.S. We use a Visa card that is linked to our checking account so I can go online and see the daily activity. It usually takes a couple of days to show up, but it goes through as a payment in Disney Cruise Line's name, not our travel agent's. Our TA simply does the paperwork for us I find this to be very convenient, we feel much better making these payments and seeing our balance going down. We'll have our August cruise paid off in a few more months, then we'll continue to use that same amount to put aside into a savings account to build up to the amount we want to take with us for spending money, excursions, etc.

jeanie, thanks for your post! As you can see, I have a little over 600 days before my cruise. Your encouraging remarks about time passing quickly is nice to hear. I really am having fun just planning this trip. Now, if I could get my mom or my DH as excited about it as I am. My DH was joking (or he had better have been joking ) and said, "You can talk to me about the cruise when it's a month away" I guess I have about 19 more months to suffer in silence.

SeaSpray, I was told this by Dana at Cruise Planners. She was really sweet and said this was what they were told by Disney. I didnt think this sounded right because I do remember seeing on DCLs site where you can make payments. Oh well, Im not going with them anyway. I have my ressie with Disney right now and I am keeping it that way till the final payment. I might switch it over to Dana then, She is saving me $124. The only other discount I could find was $75 from DU.
momm2four, I feel your pain. These boards do help keep you sain. I have been listening to the ships whistle and getting teary eyed all day.

Jeanie~ Congratulations! We're on the 4/17 Eastern too!I'll be doing cruise payoff day on Monday. We only booked in early Jan. How did you stand the wait! We have school Spring break that week. CT, RI & Mass all seem to have the same week. 2 yrs.ago we did the cruise during this week & it was like the Northeast cruise. Many weary new englanders, sick of the snow!

Come over to our cruise meet thread and visit with us! We have a great bunch of people going, so it should be a lot of fun. Beware if you like shrimp... Rae is on our cruise...We are going to email DCL before the cruise & tell them to bring more than usual!
