I wanted to pass on a special Disney-related story a friend told me yesterday. Her DS is 7 and in the 1st grade. He is also ADD/HD and doing well, but some days he has a rough time with things. His teacher is very tuned into her students and when she sees him or others starting to get frustrated she comes by them and softly and gently sings - "just keep swimming...just keep swimming.." (remember Dory singing this in Finding Nemo?) It helps her son smile, calm down, and move on. I love it.
My DS - now 9 and in the 3rd grade - had this teacher in 1st grade and she is wonderful. When she knew the kids had enough of something and needed a break she would have them get up and sing and dance - and she would dance too!
Every morning DS still goes back to visit her AND his 2nd grade teacher...both women left wonderful impressions on him. My DS also has problems and his teachers have helped him along.
So whenever you are having a rough time just remember...just keep swimming..just keep swimming...
