Hello all! I am glad to be a part of this fine group of folks. We bought in at SSR. I think I am already experiencing add-on-itis. I have been pouring over the boards for the last 2 days. Paper work on its way for signatures (we bought direct, needed to have access to other collections, since we do not know where the military will send us next). So won't be long before we are officially in the system. So, hello all! Your information you have shared on this board has made the decision very easy for us. We look forward to our first stay!

PS. I forgot to ask our guide, and we do not have official access to MS yet...maybe you guys will know....We have the Fantasy booked for Dec '12. It is not PIF yet. IF there are still DVC slots open (I understand bookings on points are very limited, and yes, not the best use of points), can I use my points on an exsisting reservation? We should have enough for first & second passenger and pay for the rest cash. No big deal if not, the cruise is already budgeted, but we have no WDW plans for 2012, since we are doing the cruise. TIA

You guys really have the best info out there. My guide was great too. The information can be overwhelming. But his info helped, my DVC passporter helped and all of you who have been through it before have been a HUGE help. Cannot thank you all enough....

No worries on the cruise question, it is complicated and I know not the best use of points. Maybe some one will come along and have some info for me. If not, I look forward to the moment I am in the system and will ask MS.

My belief is no. I think you'd have to make another ressie via MS to use any points. When a ressie is made via MS any passengers not traveling on points must be paid for in full at time of points booking. I also assume your current ressie is not in concerige? If it were you cannot cancel that ressie, if your not in the penalty period you could move it. HTH

Thanks! We only wish we could be concerige! LOL! The scenario that you described makes a lot of sense. Then there is a whole 'nother level of complication, as we booked on board the Dream. So I imagine the OBC/on board booking discount would go away too. I appreciate your input. I think I will leave well enough alone and keep it a cash ressie. I guess we will be finding a reason to fit in a first stay some time soon.
