I just paid the deposit today on 150 points at SSR. With the current incentive, I get $1200(or $8/pt.) to put on the 20% downpayment and will be paying the rest. I was planning on adding an additional 120 points in order to get the other incentive of 100 points but my guide told me that he didn't know when that incentive would be up. I would have to wait to purchase the additional points when I was in the final stages of closing and after my 15 days of when I can cancel all together.
So my questions are:
1-How long to do incentives usually last?
2-I would like to get all of these transactions done before the June increase, is that possible?
3-Or should I just go ahead and purchase more points up front and forget about the added incentive?
I was just trying to get the best bang for my buck in getting both incentives and was planning on banking those bonus 100 points for a big trip in 06.
Any opinions would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Teresa

Hi there..
We too are purchasing at SSR. I just gave my deposit today, so we're very excited. From what I was told from My guide is that the 100 point add on incentive is an incentive for people who are members already. You could have opted to receive the 100 pts when you purchased your 150 pts but you opted for the credit, which we did too. When you do the add on you won't get the 8 dollar credit. Your paying 95 dollars a point to get the 100 pt bonus. In my opinion it would be better to get your 270 pts and get a bigger credit and use that towards your balance. You can always bank your points and next year when you plan on taking your big trip borrow points from 2007

Hope that helps.

Once you are an owner, then the add on incentives for 120 points includes both the deductions for 2005 points rebate and the 100 bonus points to your home resort (which in your case is also SS).

At least that is the way I understand it. Insofar as how long the incentive lasts...well, it just depends on how business is going but I am guessing you will have time....When do you close?

I'm so excited too! I can't wait to start planning our first vacation.
Our guide did tell us that we had to be members in order to receive the bonus 100 points, that's why we have to wait until we are in the final stages of closing and then we can add on points. If I'm not mistaken the add on points are at $90/pt. I've worked the math and the payment seems to be the same doing it either way and that's with only putting down 10% on the add on points. Then I would have the bonus 100 points to bank. I'm just nervous that the incentive will change before I can get it done.

We just did the add-on as a new purchase (but that is another post) The add on gives you:

$87/point
No dues for 2005
100 bonus points for 2005 for each 120 point add on.

As far as being able to close and add-on before the incentive goes away or the price increases...I personally would take the chance and try to do the add on...if you were going to get the extra 120 points anyway it does make a big difference to get the 100 points and no dues...
