PP thanks for the info. I usally book far out so I can get the lower prices. I will also be doing my own investagating, but looks like points will be used only at WDW.
10% discount of points if you rebook. I sometimes book cash on board and later change to points. I had booked a cruise(cash) for the family and when the Panama Cruise was announced I booked that and they refunded my deposit and got the 10% pooint deduction. It was 2,536 points so the saving was great. We also used points to book the Alaska cruise on HAL thru DCL So two great cruises on all points for eight people (9 on the Panama Canal) I think those two cruise paid for half my investment in DVC.
Wow. Well at Least it's nice to know that other's fall through the cracks as well. We're DVC members and we've been on 3 disney cruises. We've never received any goodies and because we paid with cash, I assumed that they didn't know we were DVCer's. We actually became DVC members on our first cruise and all we received at that time was baseball hats and a photo album. We've also never received any Castaway Club stuff after arriving home either though. I guess I'll have to make a visit to the DVC desk this time.
