Just how many cliques threads do we need?

Any thread ove 5K posts/replies should be on its own page. they rudely hog the whole front page with no remorse.

Right now, there are 16 cliques threads on page 1. I think its time for their own board.

Just curious... but how do you know that someone is lurking with no intention of ever posting... How can you tell and why would this bother anyone? Not picking - I just find this comment a bit confusing

Who has time to even bother with checking who is lurking and then stalking them to see where they post what they read on another board.

Exactly what do you mean by Clique threads? Isn't the whole disboard kinda of a clique in itself? And why does it bother anyone if a group of friends are chatting? Just join in and get to know them. If it doesn't interest you, then find another that does.

I have to take a moment from my lunch to say that I'm part of 4 group threads (Chicago thread, Fireman Wives thread, Tagliarcy thread, Mr. Back's Back thread) and I proud to say that none of us hijack threads

I'm just hoping you don't all think badly of us that are on some group threads. I can't even say clique thread, because I don't feel we are clique threads. If any of you would like to join me on these threads, you are more than invited

I'd like to see the math you used to figure this out. Is it based on the number of posters and numbers of threads? Perhaps frequency of posts? I just know there was some complicated equation.

I have never seen anyone rejected.

I hop alot between the cruise, community and budget boards and just post whenever and wherever the mood strikes me - I didn't realize that perhaps I'm busting in on a clique

Well, in that case they should just stop letting people post on the DIS. Since there is a search function, every answer to almost every topic has been answered over the past 10 years.

Let me clarify. I don't have any problems with any one or any certain people on the DIS. I just find it annoying when you think the thread is about one thing...and you find out its about personal chit chat.....AGAIN.

Could you provide an example of a thread you are talking about?

I know that if I see a thread with over 1000 posts, it probably is a "clique" thread.

And by the way.......clique is defined as "a group of people who are friendly with each other but exclude others" I bet if you introduced yourself in some of these threads....you would not be excluded.... Just my opinion.
