Just how hot is it in September?

We always go the last week in August and it is hotter than heck and extremely humid. But the lines are generally short, and the hotels are cheap. Our strategy is to go to the parks early in the morning, come back to the hotel after lunch for a nap/swim break, then head back to the parks at night.

Still surface of the sun hot. The break in weather happens later in FL than it does in other parts of the country.

We tried late September one year, but I'm heat intolerant and it was just too much for me.

We typically go in September. It's hot and humid, like others have said. So hot and humid. You will sweat a ton and it does still feel like the surface of the sun :lmao: And there can be a lot of rain. Poster who said 2 years it rained buckets is exactly right.

I am easy to chill and I have never needed a sweater even at night.

Have you ever been on the surface of the sun?
Lol jk but yeah it's jus as got as mid summer all through Sept. I'm a NOrth East person who doesn't do well with 80+ weather... I went in Aug and would never do that again. But at least the lines are shorter so as long as you can deal w the heat, you will have a great trip!!! I'd recommend getting the Waterparks n more ticket opt. Go early and take a break in the afternoon and you will be fine °o°

Hot as fish grease!!! Very humid!!! Drink LOTS of water, duck into shops, less popular attractions, ride water rides later in the day so you are not even wetter than the sweat will have you,and you should be just fine!;) We've done Sept. twice, and it's really no sweat(pun intended),if you just stay hydrated and seek a/c whenever convenient....y'all should be fine!:goodvibes

We are yearly Disney visitors in September and it is hot hot hot. I won't lie. But there are ways around it. Utilize the cool rides, there's ac everywhere so if you need it or a break, take it! Don't push yourself. Pool time is always good for cooling down and relaxing. Later in the day when the sun shys away a bit or starts to you can instantly feel the temperature drop a bit and it's nice. The night time is perfect in my opinion. Make sure to have water and you can get free cups of water if need through out the parks. It's do able don't let the hot scare you from a great time to visit :)

Totally agree, we usually always go in Sept.:thumbsup2

We'll be going in early September right after Labor Day and are wondering what to expect for daytime temperatures. Does it cool off much at night..enough to wear a sweatshirt?

Very, very, very hot - little, if any different than mid-summer! :faint:

I recently read that it takes about a week to acclimate to that type of heat and humidity. So I plan to schedule some afternoon walks with my family in the nice heat and humidity of Hotlanta before we go! I think that will help with our perception and attitude.

Boy, were you given some bad information! I'm a southern girl, and love it with all my heart, but you 'never' get acclimated to it!! :rolleyes1

Maybe you can change your attitude of endurance to it, but you will not get used to it. Living in the south does not mean staying outdoors all day like you do (mostly) at the parks!
