We always go the last week in August and it is hotter than heck and extremely humid. But the lines are generally short, and the hotels are cheap. Our strategy is to go to the parks early in the morning, come back to the hotel after lunch for a nap/swim break, then head back to the parks at night.
And there can be a lot of rain. Poster who said 2 years it rained buckets is exactly right.
We've done Sept. twice, and it's really no sweat(pun intended),if you just stay hydrated and seek a/c whenever convenient....y'all should be fine!
