We were supposed to leave tonight and be in Disney on the 24th for the start of free dining. My husband's mom has been sick and took another turn for the worse and we had to cancel so he could be here. My little guy was heartbroken.

We rescheduled for the week of Columbus Day - October 12th. Does anyone know what the crowd level might be like. Also - Mickey's Halloween party will be held while we are there. Is it worth an additional $150.00 to take our 7 year old to it? I don't know much about it and just happened to see it scheduled for our 2nd night there.

One bad thing is because it is sooo close we got most of the reservations we wanted, but they are all lunch and one breakfast. I am hoping to pick up a Chief Mickey on one of the days we will be there - it was all booked up when I called today. We are doing Crystal Palace, 50's Prime Time Diner, LeCellier, and Cape May. Anyone have another suggestion for us?

So, had to give up free dining, but they had a fall special so I still got some of a discount off the package price. I also had to loose a day to have the amount be pretty close to what we already had paid.

Sad, but will get to experience the magic a little later than planned.

:goodvibes Look at the bright side... the weather should be better! It's very (very) hot, humid, and down right soggy these days.

Im sorry, I hope your MIL will be okay.

We had to cancel last year due to my husband breaking his ankle and I remember how upset the kids and I were....but we rescheduled and had a WONDERFUL time, I had extra time to find out about little things like MNSSHP and other things I didnt know WDW did. You will have a fabalous trip come October (plus its cooler then~a little).

I would say DO MNSSHP! It was alot of fun and worth the extra $$, I prolly wouldnt do it again cause its a been there done that kinda thing but it was VERY fun to experiance and the kids Loved dressing up, as did we.:goodvibes

Good luck, hope you have a great trip and everything goes smoothly.:thumbsup2

Man, that's too bad! It's rough when someone in your family is ill.

Check out some of the threads here on the boards about MNSSHP. It sounds like a lot of fun, but I won't know for myself until we get there for our trip. With the special parade, the trick or treating, and the Hallowishes fireworks, it sounds like a really good time.

And, as the pp said, the weather will be a lot better in October! ;)

So sorry about your MIL and sorry you had to reschedule. Hopefully all will be better when you go in October!!

How old is ds? My kids did not want to do MNSSHP again but I saw they had a pirate cruise that sounded FUN! Too bad they don't have one when we will be there :( Have a great trip!

He is 7. I gave him the option of doing the party or adding another day to our vacation because I realized they would be about the same amount of $$$. He wants to add another day, but still bring his costume to wear around one day. I told him if he really wanted to that should be okay - so I guess the party is out and I have to add another day - should do that today now that I think of it.

Given the choice between August and October, I would absolutely choose October. The crowds are better and you aren't in the worst part of hurricaine season. Good luck to you and I hope your mother-in-law gets better!

I hope you have a magical time on your rescheduled trip:goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes
