I also was told that if it's not peak season then they will apply the 40%, so I booked 10 days from 8/21-8/31
There is a central database that is tracking all this information - it's not like every travel agent and CM runs their own little MS Access application on their standalone desktop.
All they have to do is pull all the reservation where pincode = xyz and reservation's name, address and phone. Then do a dup check against the list from marketing of those people with PIN. Anyone who's not dup'ed out is a potential "suspect" that will require more digging into (i.e. slight mispelled name, address, etc). But, like everyone is saying, it's not rocket science.
i think if you arent using the code /pin good for you and stay outta it
people are making it worse by calling disney and tying up agents and supervisors to see if works when they arent using it
people get all bent outta shape if they arent getting something someone else is
if you book it and it doesnt work disney will call and want $ i assume
its really none of our business
off my soapbox now
Won't be hard at all. It'll probably take them about 10 minutes to find all the names, then another hour or 2 to see if they have a pin.
I would bet my reservation, their system has a way of pulling up all reservations that were booked with discount codes VERY easily. Then it's just a questions of matching them all up.
If that were true, it would be a general discount code, and those who didn't have the pin (like me) wouldn't have been denied.
That would be fine - But again, why are some of us NOT getting the discount when we call???
I just don't understand.

Or me! At the moment I am one very unhappy Annual Pass holder. I'm happy for the ones who got the 40% off, but at the same time I want it too and have been refused at least a half a dozen times in the last week. If it's a general code why can't we all get it. I'm not even particular about my dates and am willing to go just about anytime in Nov or Dec, but every time I call I am told it's a pin code and I don't qualify for it. I don't understand how they choose who gets the Emails or post cards, but accept it because it's always been done, but if people are calling without a pin and are being told it's general code then we all should be able to get it.

but a Cm told me that the sky was falling so I am busy running in circles yelling "The Sky is falling the Sky is falling"I have to face it I am OCD Disney and if i didn't have this to fret over then I would be worrying if there was going to be a huricane while I was there or a blizzard for my flight or what ever. . . .

Its nobody's fault but Disney. They sent out random discounts and this is what happens.
