Just got the WDW Dolphin for $60 a night through Priceline

After a week of being rejected and raising and lowering our bid we finally got the WDW Dolphin for $60 a night for 2 rooms through Priceline.

We've always wanted to stay at either the Dolphin or Swan but couldn't justify the normal rates. With lots of research and patience we puuled it off.

Great Deal! We were there last Feb for low $70's through priceline and loved it. I'm going to try for my October dates too, I think ,but it's a little early. When are you going?

Wer'e heading to the Beach 8/1-8/14 then heading to Disney 8/14-8/17 with another family. We just returned this Easter from 8 days at disney and still have time left on our paases so we decided to head back and do it again...

I just can't get enough of WDW!!!!!!

Has everyone that used Priceline been happy with what they got??

I'm going at the end of September, have the CBM in DD for $20.03/night but need another night somewhere, right now I have another night at the CBM reserved for $99.00, I don't want to pay that much for that hotel, guess it's time to try Priceline.

Any hints or anything for a first time user of Priceline??

What a great price for the resort. Congratulations. I wish that I new how to bid for the Swan/Dolphin, but I've never used priceline. I wouldn't know what to look for.

Could you pm me or email me your strategy on how to get te Swan/Dolphin?

I usally use the Bidding for Travel website to get an idea what to bid for the hotels and what hotels are being awarded. They have a great forum on Florida Hotels and how to bid through priceline.

Over the past year we've stayed at The Hilton-$60 Easter week, Wyndham Resort and Spa-$65 Easter week(had to add another day) and now the WDW Dolphin-$60.

It's really very easy and if you have patience and a backup reservation you have nothing to lose.

For those wanting to take the priceline plunge, I think jeffreyml said it all EXCEPT that you must be willing to accept whatever hotel you get. Check out the biddingfortravel website. Besides the Hilton, Wyndham or SwanDolphin, you might also get Gaylord Palms or MOWC when bidding for a 4 * or Resort. All are very nice hotels. And for around $60, I don't think you can go wrong.

Dturner, no to your Priceline question, DH and I went down in Feb. w/o the kids to look at houses for 3 days. I decided to try PL. I didnt research enough and paid to much for the Hilton. And our stay at that hotel was horrid. I dont think I would have cared about paying a little to much if the service was better.

and got them a great deal. If you still need to

I have used PL often for Disney but have NEVER gotten the Swan/Dolphin. The hotel I get most is the Hilton which is fine. All of my stays there have been good and I have never had any problems. Even got an extended checkout until 5 pm on my last stay and they did not charge me!

We received the Hilton during Easter this year and had a great stay there. When we bid for this August we were hoping to get the Hilton but wound up with the Dolphin instead.

Either way, were still going to WDW!!!!!

Be careful how you bid on Priceline. I wanted a 3* hotel and I bid $35. I was looking for the orlando Hyatt but got the Wyndham on I drive which I heard is not too nice. It is also a long drive to WDW from there. When it gave me a list alternative locations I picked Disney World and Universal. Silly me. I should have only listed Disney Area. That's what we did last May when we got the Hyatt for $28. It is an older hotel but it has large clean rooms and nice pools. I also bid way too soon. You should book a room and wait for your price on PL. The closer the date the more likely you are going to get the nicer hotels or resorts. I gave them too much lead time and the other hotels didn't need to be part of the pool way back then. They really couldn't know their availabilty so far out.

I love Priceline! I've used it several times with no problems. Actually, I just stayed at a hotel in Atlanta last weekend that I got through Priceline for 1/2 off what we usually pay for the EXACT same hotel! As long as you do thorough research on biddingfortravel.com, you are pretty safe!

Priceline is WELL worth it! I encourage everyone to try it!
