let me just say first off the wonder is WONDERFUL, we couldn't of asked for a better first time experiece, i want to know how to become a castway club member????is there a site??? are there dues??? any info would be greatly appreciated....

You automatically become a member of the Castaway Club when you sail on your first Disney Cruise. You'll get documention in the mail (although this typically takes quit a while) with your Castaway Club number or you can call 1-800-449-3380 and the operator should be able to give you your number. Then, when you book future cruises, you'll be entitled to special benefits such as a cocktail party with the captain and priority check-in when you board the ship. **TIP**, if booking your next cruise with an independent TA and not directly with Disney, make sure you tell him/her to tell Disney that you're a returning guest and provide the TA with your Castaway Club number. I forgot to mention this when we booked with our TA and when I called Disney, they had our reservation, but they didn't have us listed as a "Castaway Club" member, so we wouldn't have gotten our benefits if I hadn't called. They told me that I had to call my TA back and have him call them to "change" the details of our reservations. We're not sailing again until Nov 2003, but I didn't want to miss out on the cocktail party!!

Hi,

You automatically become a Castaway Cay member after your first cruise with DCL. We took our first cruise in August and I received my Castaway Cay card last week. It will be sent to you automatically. There are no fees and no card to fill or anything.

From what I have read on this forum, however, I think that we were pretty lucky to get our card so quickly.
When you go on your next cruise, be sure to mention that you are a Castaway Cay member and to give your member ID as it will give you special priviledges.
