Hi all!!!!!!!! :wave2: It's alittle past midnight here in NYC..and I literally just got home from our week long vacation at Port Orleans Riverside!!! We had an absolutely AMAZING time..and I'm sad that it's over! I took tons of pictures and also visited many of the resorts there.....so when I'm alittle more settled tomorrow afternoon, I'll start writing an indepth trip report for everyone to see. In the meantime of me getting that to you....if anyone has ANY questions at all.....please feel free to send me a PM! Just a quick FYI...we stayed in the alligator bayou section of POR in bldg. 18 (corner room 1812).....walked all the grounds of the resort, & visited ALL the other resorts with the exception of the All Stars...but did manage to get to POP as well...made it to all the theme parks/DD/ & the Boardwalk as well. Tried many restaurants rec. from this board and elsewhere...and will write more on those later. Would love to answer any questions you have about the resort, etc......I promise to post pics over the next day or two! My only ? to you all is where were the green mickeys?? I had mine on my backpack the whole trip and didnt see any fellow dis'ers with them??? :rotfl:

I didn't know anything about a green mickey. I think it would be cool if we could make T-shirts with the DIS logo on them that way we could identify each other. :rotfl2: I just got yesterday and i'm still tired. Gotta be at work tomorrow at 6am. OUCH!

POr is one of my favorite resorts.I actually like it better than some of the deluxe resorts.

I'm glad you had a great time. You've] got me excited for our trip. We will be staying at POR in June. Were you close to everything in your building? Did you request a building when you made your reservation? We've requested #14 just because I heard it was really close to the main building and the pool. But looking at the map #18 looks like a good choice also. Were you close to everything?

You're going to have a WONDERFUL time and I'm sure will LOVVVE POR!!!! :Pinkbounc We sure did. I have to say IMHO that I preferred POR to my previous stays at GF, and CR even though it is a moderate. To answer your questions; Yes- bldg. 18 is VERY close to EVERYTHING! Loved the location. Walked the entire property SEVERAL TIMES, and even made notice of certain bldg. locations...(and took tons of pics which I'll include when I'm finished writing my trip report)~ and to me, bldg. 18 was perfect. I requested a corner room in bldg. 18 on the first floor, and all my requests were met! :cheer2: The way I did it...was to call the 800 Disney reservations number and have my requests noted right on my reservation, then 3 days prior to my trip I called POR front desk directly to confirm my requests were noted..which they were. :teeth: Anyway, I was very happy upon arrival to find out our room had already been assigned, and all requests met!!!! :cool1:  :cheer2: Let me just say this...I read LOTS of messages on boards and in books talking about bldg. 14 being the closest..and yes, technically it is (to the back door of the food court that is) which makes it VERY convenient to get use out of those 11.99 refillable mugs, but you still have to walk over a bridge to the main pool...but bldg. 18 is JUST as close to walk...I mean they share the SAME walkway~ which I'll show you when I get my pics uploaded here. Bldgs 15 and 16 are behind 14 & 18 and are alittle bit further to walk...as is bldg. 27 which is next to bldg 18 on the far side...but even these are only 2 minutes more to walk...not bad AT ALL IMHO. I would have been just as happy in ANY of these bldgs.~ but yes, if even the slightest walking is an issue for a family with young children....14 and 18 are equal in convenience to me. Again, if walking is an issue....try not to get the AB bldgs. in the 30's. (~please noone yell at me for that comment...they are VERY nice bldgs. but I'm solely talking about the walking factor here.) As for the mansions....they were beautiful, and I know many people prefer them, but I have to say I much preferred the AB section myself..just felt cozier for a week long stay.
Anyway...I'm sad I had to leave.....but am excited to show you my new pictures which I hope to have up tonight. :wizard: Anymore questions..please ask!
