Just Got BC add on--long

Thanks to this board today, I called Doorway to Dreams and got a 53 point add on, with 2008 bankable points. We were debating where to do a small add on, BWV which we already own a small contract or BC. Today we decided BC, well our guide is off thru the weekend. And the timeshare store does have a decent 50 point BWV offer now, so I wanted to know today, if I could get BC from disney or BWV from the timeshare store. I was reading the add on and incentive threads and saw the long waitlist for 50 points at BC for certain months, so I got the idea to call Doorway to Dreams and ask any incentives and any points available for any month for BC. There was a 25 point and then she said a 53 point, which no one was waitlisted for, the CM is calling Florida now, she says we can have the BC today. No incentives for 50 point add on. But we well get 55 disney dollars. Thanks DIS board!

It sounds like, with a December Use Year, you are actually getting your 2007 Use Year points, which MS will let you bank. The 2008 points will be there on December 1, 2008.

Whaaaaaa Disney called back. The CM said we could not buy it cause it was a different use year, we are June. The contract was a different use year and in Disney's eyes a different contract so it would be a new contract which has to be 160 points. So as some of you, I am wait listed. And to the question what is the 55 disney dollars, I was paying disney visa. One dollar earned for each 100 spent. Bummmmmmmer.

I hope your waitlist comes through. Sorry that there was this mix-up, what a let down. In our case, I only left a message with Michelle. I'll call back on Monday to get on the waitlist if there is one. I will also consider VWL if those points are available, but BCV isn't.

That's too bad. I'm disappointed that the DVC guide got your hopes up - but unless you are purchasing 160 points, the Use Year must be the same for any add-on. If you buy 160 (or more) points, then they can sell a new contract with a different Use Year.

I'd either use the waitlist for BCV points it that's what you really want, or look for a resale with fewer points. The resale will likely have closing costs as an additional purchase where a direct purchase will not have closing costs on any of the sold out resorts.

We just added on 70 at the BCV. We have a March use year and I think 125 were available with no waiting list. I think there were also some April points available with no waiting list. We really just wanted 50 pts but it is hard to leave points on the table. Would have loved all 125 but dont want to dip into the rainy day account since the economy has been doing a lot of raining lately. Best of luck to whoever gets the other 55 pts.
