My DD4 and I just got back from our first trip to WDW. What a blast!

Yes it was HOT HOT HOT. Note to self: next trip will be in March. I really can't stand the heat. Sun burn and sun poisoning - yuck.

Lines were bearable everywhere. 30 mins max and the lines were moving all the time. Loved the FP. Used it for Voyage of the Little Mermaid at MGM and Peter Pan at MK.

Stayed at ASMov. Very nice Herbie the Luv Bug room. Everyone was extremely nice to us. Guest Services was very helpful any time I stopped by.

We were offered seats on most of the buses when it was SRO. When we did get a seat, I put DD on my lap. She made many new friends each trip.

One thing I'd do different .... go to AK instead of MGM. Not much for DD to do and I spent most of the time walking around trying to find my way around. The map wasn't much help because it was very difficult to tell where I was.

We saw IllumiNations on Monday. What a show. Why does everyone have to stand up? We were all nicely sitting down and everyone had a great view. But when the show started I felt like I was at a concert. Everyone stood up and only the first 2 or 3 rows of people got to see the stuff on the water. Oh well... DD went on my sun burned shoulders (hope she appreciates it).

We also saw Wishes on Wed nite. What can I say? Awesome!

We did a couple of character dinings. We took in story time in the fairy tale garden with Belle. Met many others on the street. DD called Alladin a princess princess: . Boy was he upset... Jasmine was amused .:hyper:

Well I've got 3 days to recover before getting back to the real world. All in all this was a wonderful experience for both of us.

Glad to hear you had such a great time despite the sunburn! Florida sun can be brutal! Funny, I found MGM to be a bit difficult to navigate at first also, being a "smallish" park you would think it would be much easier.

Glad you had such a good time...too bad about sunburn and sun poisoning. My younger DS used to get bad sun burns and the doctor suggested Bullfrog sun lotion or gel, it works wonderful and none of us ever burn wearing it..it is kinda expensive but worth it.....

Sounds like you had a great time despite the sunburn. Hope that heals up fast! We use Coppertone sport (SPF 30). It sprays on and usually lasts all day. DH and I are fair skinned so we have to be careful as well. DS got coated with his "SPF - white boy" and hated every minute of it poor thing. It's the SPF 45 baby stuff in the pink bottle (having a brain fade now, but it's a very common brand). Between that and keeping him under the stroller canopy, he never got burned either. I concur with the pp though, Bullfrog is an excellent brand.

HTH! Glad you had such a wonderful time.

I used an SPF 50 on both of us. DD was in the stroller so she was fine. Mine sweated off. I gave in and bought one of those spray bottle fans. But all it did was get me wet and moved the hot air around. Like I said, me and heat don't mix. And for that I'm glad to be back north in 60 degree cloudy weather.

On another note: I had planned to rent a double stroller each day. On day 1 the CM told me they are trying a new thing. Multi day rentals. You buy for as many days as you want at a 10% discount. You get a ticket for each day. After that you only need to go to the CM where you pick up the strollers. Show them your stroller ticket and you're off. What a time saver.

So we did the double stroller during the day for the rides, etc. Then went back to the hotel for a shower and nap. Then went back to the park for dinner. And for those times I just got the single stroller. I found them very handy and easy to manuever around.

The heat didn't bother me and I was there last weekend. I definately think it has a lot to do with where you are from. The weather was identical to what we had been experiencing in NC before I left for WDW.

I was bothered once while waiting in line for The Festival of Lion King at AK. There was no air circulating in the areas without fans.

Just remember to take it easy and enjoy some of the air conditioned shows.

When you bought the stroller thing--is that ticket for a stroller at any park? Say you go to MGM during day, then MK at night.

LOL! Great report, glad you had fun.

DD called Alladin a princess . Boy was he upset... Jasmine was amused .

I think this happens all the time. At CRT Alladin introduced himself and told the kids specifically saying "I'm a prince, not a princess". I got a laugh out of it. I think my son had his "suspicions" but got over them after Alladin gave him "the high-five".

All the characters were so good with the kids.

Glad to hear you had had a great trip. What magical memories you'll share with your daughter.

We still get turned around at MGM :D

Sounds like you had a great time. LOL about Alladin........

MGM---I too can't get that park straight, but for some reason, DH knows that park like the back of his hand. He hasn't been there any more often that I have, and it's *my* favorite park, so I just don't get it. We walked in there the first day and he knew exactly where to go. Weird.

Yes, you get a stroller at any park that you go to for the entire day. Be sure to keep your receipt.

Next time go with Coppertone Sport sunscreen--the stuff is sweatproof. Sounds like a great trip.

Thanks for the great report! I'm glad you had such a nice time in spite of the heat.
That was SO funny about Aladdin being a princess! :)

BTW, what is sun poisoning? We're from Arizona and have never heard of sun poisoning! Is it what we call heat exhaustion?
:sunny:

Glad you had a great time...love to hear that from people on their 1st time! Now you're going to be addicted like all of us!

How much was the stroller deal? We're taking our grandson in Nov and it would be a help if we didn't need to lug that around.

Yes the rental is good at any park. As long as you keep your little ticket for the day. You can use it at any park any time that day.

In fact, when you return the stroller they ask if you will be needing one later that nite at that park or another park... otherwise, you get your $1 deposit back (we got a couple in Disney dollars).
