Got back from a 6 day trip, stayed at Saratoga Springs. I will do a brief day by day recap. Myself, wife, DS (15), DS (10), DS (9) and DD (8).
First day
Ate lunch at the Artist's Palette in Saratoga. Kids all got flatbread pizzas of various types, all very good. I got the bbq pork flatbread (one of my favs) and my wife got the spinach artichoke flatbreak (another fav). Thumbs up for a quick meal.
Dinner was in the MK at Cosmic Rays -- this one was just a quicky and we got various CS food. It is fine.... chicken strips, hamburger, hot dogs...whatever you get, you know what you are getting.
Second day (breakfast was always in our room, so no reports there)
Lunch was in MGM at the Sci Fi Diner. This is one of our favorite places to eat. We all pretty much get the same thing, the handmade fresh burgers. For me, this is the best burger by far on all of the property. Onion rings, shakes..... all very good.
Dinner was back at our room
Third day
LUnch was in Animal Kingdom. Kids just love Pizzafari, so that is where we ended up. Pizzas are all the small throughout the property but kids swear these are better. I am from CHicago so I think the Pizza is average at best, but most say it is pretty decent.
Dinner was at Ohana in the Poly. Oh man, our first visit here. We had a 7:30reservation and got lucky with a table in the back overlooking the castle. We got seated about 7:45. The smell in there is awesome. With the kids, we were a bit leary about this one, but that thought was soon abolished. The sweet and sour shrimp were tremendous as were the honey bbq wings. The scalloped potatoes were pretty good as well. Now for the meat... the sausage was average at best. The turkey was extrmely good, the pork was pretty good but a bit dry. The steak was also pretty good. Overall we gave it a 4 out of 5. We seldom give any 5's as our family rates the restaurant. We got to see Wishes from our table which was very nice as well. I must add that if you are a margarita fan, the Patron Margarita (although steeply priced) is one of the best I have ever had. Note to self, dont drive next time so I could enjoy more than one!
Day 4 we ate lunch in DTD at Earl of Sandwich. I am now wondering why I didnt eat here before. We got the meatball sandwich, the turkey sandwich and the cabrese... all VERY good. one of our best overall meals we had while we were there. BIG thumbs up here.
Day 5
Lunch was counter service in MGM. We eat at the one over by Star Tours, cant think of the name but we all get the turkey panini sandwich. Very good and has alot of taste.
Dinner we ate at the Turf Club in Saratoga. We have eaten here on almost every trip and will continue to do so. The wife got the shrimp penne pasta dish which she gets every time, very good. The kids split two sirloin steaks that were very good and cooked to perfection. i got the prime rib which was average at best. i would probably not order that again. OVerall it was a good meal, I will just try something different next time.
