Hi,
Just got back from a 4 night/5 day stay at Disneyland Hotel.
Fantastic week and I can only think of a few minor comments but not real low points.
Hotel was wonderful, ground floor west wing room with a lovely patio. Attention to detail at DLH really was awesome, room was very large and really well decorated.
Lobby, reception area plus all the hallways immaculate.
Breakfast was fantastic, a real spread, hotel staff very cheerful and helpful plus being a few minutes from the park was just perfect especially with our son's special needs.
Liked the Cafe Fantasia for an evening drink too.
Character interaction excellent too, they came up to us several times and Chip and Dale actually pushed Joshua's wheelchair to reception one day.
(he can walk but not long distances).
Weather was great, clear blue skies all week.
Disneyland Park, especially Main Street USA looked fab with the gold ribbons and trimmings, honestly cannot recall any park anywhere looking as good as MS USA did.
Queue's fairly light, we got on everything we wanted to.
Joshua had a good time, was so happy all week, the long haul Florida flights really take their toll on him, so it's such a bonus him being fresh and relaxed all week and if he is happy so are we.
Shopping for Disney stuff was pretty good, but all done at Main Street USA, some nice 20th year available too - liked the plates but so heavy to fit into the cases.
Visited Val d'Europe and La Vallee Village - again very pleasant experience.
Only minor comments: Wi-Fi doesn't work in the DLH rooms which I think is quite poor given the standard of the hotel (that was the only issue though),
given the lovely warm weather we were surprised to see so many people in coats and jumpers
, some of the people who travel on Eurostar need to have a word with themselves - why they stand up in the aisle for the entire journey I don't know (?) and also some parents let their kid's do the same even when passengers are trying to get off (?), I was slightly bemused when Disney closed the Gibson's Ice Cream Parlour at 5pm on a bright sunny afternoon when people wanted to go inside, just don't get it (?) and the Wall's one tucked away in a side street is that supposed to actually open or just be for effect?
Disney Village - we never went, can see the new store is progressing, but DV holds no real appeal for me.
Perhaps more controversially the Studio's I just can't get into - it just seems like it hasn't been planned, just don't like it and the theming/landscaping seem poor to me.
These in no way are low's just my observations really.
It was a brilliant week and I can highly recommend the Disneyland Hotel, we were lucky with the weather and the Disneyland Park looks magnificent.
Will post some photo's soon.
