WOOOHOOOO. Yes we became members yesterday. Our home resort will be SSR. I am excited. Our trip went GREAT. The crowds were very low. The only somewhat crowded day was at MK on Sat. We ended up leaving around noon. It wasn't horrible but compared to MGM and EC on Friday Jan. 26th it was a big difference. I love going the end of Jan. This was our 2nd time going then and both times WERE PERFECT. We had no bad weather but it was cold to where we wore jackets/hoodies most days except Sat. it got up to the low 70's. There were two nights that were DOWN RIGHT COLD. We were able to ride all the popular rides mulitple times.....by either having short waits or utilizing fast passes. EC was absolutely THE BEST....we did it all a couple of times if not more. We love EC. It was great. I enjoyed the milder version of MS. I rode that a bunch of times with my youngest son. I did the intense one ONCE A COUPLE OF TRIPS AGO AND WOULD NEVER DO IT AGAIN. LOL The Nemo ride was "okay". My youngest liked it......probably wouldn't stand in a long line for it though. Soarin was fun as usual. We ate in the Biergarten. My dh thought it was good.....my sons hated it. I thought it was okay....something different. Personally my dh said he would be happy with counterservice there. So we tried it. All in all a perfect trip. My sick little guy was still running a fever when we left on Thursday afternoon but by Sat. he was a new man. SO he got better fast and I didn't get any worse with my bronchitis and we both enjoyed the fun. We saw the new Nemo musical at AK and I thought it was good....my sons and daughter thought it was just okay. I still think Lion King beats this hands down. EE was WONDERFUL. I loved it. My 13 year old rode it 4 times in a row....if that tells you anything about crowds the day we went. I was nervous about riding but it was so much fun I rode it again right afterwards. We ate at Prime Time, Beirgarten, 1900 Parkfare for breakfast.......other than those...we did counter service. Saw the new castle show and new parade. We enjoyed those too. I think the old snowglobe parade was better though. Let me know if you want to know anything else. OH AND TGM..................ANOTHER PERFECT TRIP. That mans knows his stuff. We followed his green days the entire trip and it worked out great.

Welcome home!!! We are members at SSR also. We are "going home" to VWL in May for my Birthday. :dance3: :cool1: I really can't wait, can ya tell!

Thanks. I am excited. We have wanted to do this and we had the chance back in 94 and didn't....it has bugged me ever since. I almost felt like we missed the window of time with our kids getting older but apparently WE HAVEN'T. LOL

Just curious financially how long does it take to break even and then be saving money, including any annual maintenance that you are required to pay.
I was never to keen on time shares type of deals as I always thought it took so long to reap the financial awards. Although I know there are alot of perks that may balance it out.
But so many people seem to be doing it, its making me curious :scratchin

Well at the presentation (highly recommend people interested...in going to this...it really explains everything so well) said about 5-7 years. I am not the person to ask....because we just joined. I just know that people join DVC for different reasons.....and for us it was something we had wished we had done back in 94 and we are the point now that we really want a nice place to stay and not feel so crammed into a hotel room anymore. We spend a lot of money on these disney trips and the least is usually spent on hotels at least for us. We can stay at SOG so the cost is kept down and it is nice but we are ready for MORE. For some people....they dont care where they rest their heads since most are not in the rooms that long but we plan on relaxing and enjoying the various resorts and we plan on using our points outside of disney too. I say we all spend money in different ways and we personally feel vacations are an important part of who we are, we want our children to have wonderful memories of family time spent together and they will enjoy these points for a very long time and their kids too. Just like the DVC guide told us....we all vacation differently and DVC is not for everyone. It is hard to explain why we did it....there are many reasons. I am sure that is the same for most. I hope someone can explain the cost better. I know that you can probably put pen to paper and find out that cost wise it might not be a great deal but everyone does Disney differently. Hope this helped. :bitelip:

Welcome Home! :thumbsup2

Glad you had a great trip!
