It was violent for violent's sake. The thing about M. Night's movies was that he DIDN'T have to show the blood and guts to scare that part of your brain that is terrified by the very THOUGHT of something bad. But with this movie... he showed...EVERYTHING...and it was completely unnecessary.
I haven't seen the movie yet. I was going to but then I heard the bad reviews and I didn't go because I didn't want to spend money on a movie that sucked. I agree with JCandKT. What I really loved about Signs was that he didn't really show anything gory, it was all about suspense and thrills. With camera angles, reactions and music he could create a very tense scene. I was so hoping that the Happening would be good. I know he must have another good movie somewhere in that brain of his...
