Just got back from seeing "Alice in Wonderland"

We went this afternoon and while we're glad we saw it, that's about all. Nice eye candy, but we found very little engaging about the film. We'll stick with the Disney animated movie for our preferred version of the film.:)

planning to go and go see it, looks amazing def wanna go now after hearing all the great feedback

We saw it today and loved it. I liked the story and the characters, and didn't find it boring at all. But to each his own, not everyone likes the same stuff. I thought the red queen was a riot!! And I enjoyed Alice also. And Johnny, well we always love Johnny...

I saw this movie last night and me and my bf both were very disappointed :( didnt like it at all.

Saw it today. I took my 8 and 5 year olds. The 8 year old loved it...the 5 year old was a little bored. Neither were scared at all.

I've always wondered what it was like to trip on acid...and now that I have seen the movie, I know!! :lmao::dance3::3dglasses

I took my children earlier this afternoon. It was okay. I liked the characters, especially Alice. 3-D wasn't necessary. I was going back and forth with the glasses. It didn't make a huge difference. Just like avatar, 3-D wasn't necessary.

Went with my husband, my son and his girlfriend and my daughter who will be seven in October and we all loved it.

I came home and told my DH it was like watching a bunch of people on crack while on acid.:lmao::rotfl2::lmao:
I went with DD 13 and my Nephew 15. The Jury is still out for DD but my nephew and I were throwing out lines on the way home. I personally really enjoyed it and actually went in with low expectations. The red queen just killed me, she reminded me of a toddler!:lmao: For some reason I felt bad for the Mad Hatter (Johnny Depp was awesome of course!), just this ton of empathy for him. As a kid I remember the Mad Hatter being kind of scary/mean. I really liked this take on him.

i thought it was ok. the thing that bothered me the most was the "3D"...that's not 3D. the colors were just more vivid, but when you say 3D i'm expecting things to pop out of the screen at me or something, you know?

definatly enjoyed JD as the Hatter. Alice was pretty good, altho a bit more "surprise" from her would have been nice.

loved both of the queens, and i love Alan Rickman and all, but i still think that Christopher Walken should have been the catterpillar. could you imagine "WHOOOO are you!?" from Chris Walken? lol

definatly not a movie for really young kids tho, like you said 8 and above is probably fine. it did have a few scary moments in it, and JD did look quite creepy at times.

that was exactly what i told my DH!! i felt like i was on an acid trip for about an hour and a half lol

Depp was awesome as the Hatter. Otherwise, I found the film quite a disappointment. It had potential, but didn't rise to the occasion.

I don't do 3-D due to motion sickness. I thought the movie was really beautiful in 2-D and I enjoyed it very much.

Two of my kids and I have extreme motion sickness and this is why we almost decided not to do the 3D. (I feel yucky during the short shows at Disney, so I didn't know if we could make it through a 2 hour movie). This movie did not bother us at all.

I felt that it was more realistic/ super hi-def than what I think of as a traditional 3D movie. I thought it worked nicely for this film and could see all movies being watched like that in the theater in the future. It was like watching a more vivid version of a regular movie, not a movie with the motion and tricks usually used for 3D. I liked it, but was expecting something a bit more when I heard 3D.

The new digital 3d movies are really more about the depth and vividness of the picture. They are not about the things popping out at you. I love them, but I know not all people do.
LOL about the acid trip, but really isn't the Disney cartoon also that way? Without quite the same visual details.

My dd went with her friends, all 13yo's. They liked the movie, however not loved it.

My dd said it was not "creepy" enough for her. She expected darker out of Tim Burton and then she blamed the Disney Company for watering it down. What a critic.

LOL, sounds like something my dd would say, as a die hard Burton fan!

Took DD10 and her friend yesterday. DD thought it was ok and her friend really loved it. I enjoyed it, but I expected more. Something was missing for me, but I can't put my finger on it. The preschool, Kindergarten set seemed bored by the movie so I agree with the 8 and older recommendation.

I guess it didn't help my enjoyment that 2 wannabe movie critcs were sitting behind us and constantly making comparisons to other Tim Burton movies. Then, during scenes where little ones were getting restless, they huffed and puffed about how rude it is to let children talk during a movie. I turned around and politely said adults shouldn't talk during a movie either. I NEVER do that. It did the trick though.:thumbsup2

DH & I took our DDs (8 and 5.5) yesterday. We all thought it was good. My 8 yo said it is now one of her favorite movies. Neither of them were scared, and DD5 wasn't bored either, she actually really liked it and it kept her interest the whole time.

Saw it over the weekend in 3-D with DDs 7 & 9 and we loved it! We were in a sold out theatre as well and was really surprised at how many young kids were htere. I'm talking 2 and 3 year olds. No way would I have taken a child that young. My 7 year old was a little jumpy at certain times because the 3-D experince was so vivid. There were little ones crying! I would love to go again when it's been our for a while so the theatre won't be so crowded and we can enjoy it more. Johnny Depp played an awesome part, Alice was really good as well. The red queen was great, didn't care so much for the white queen, very monotone IMO.

i don't feel like paying extra money for "more vivid visuals"...you know what i mean??

i've seen a few of the HP movies when they were in IMAX and when parts of them were in 3D, that i loved!

but this?? no...i felt like i was sort of ripped off, there was nothing "special" about the 3D.

that's the same reason i didn't go see Avatar. i had heard that the movie was kind of predictable, and nothing that "amazing" but the visual effects were pretty good with the 3D...but still it was just more of a "vivid colors" thing.

well that and the fact that it was over 2 hours long, no thank you
