I don't do 3-D due to motion sickness. I thought the movie was really beautiful in 2-D and I enjoyed it very much.
I came home and told my DH it was like watching a bunch of people on crack while on acid.I've always wondered what it was like to trip on acid...and now that I have seen the movie, I know!!![]()
Saw it today. I took my 8 and 5 year olds. The 8 year old loved it...the 5 year old was a little bored. Neither were scared at all.

i thought it was ok. the thing that bothered me the most was the "3D"...that's not 3D. the colors were just more vivid, but when you say 3D i'm expecting things to pop out of the screen at me or something, you know?
My dd went with her friends, all 13yo's. They liked the movie, however not loved it.
My dd said it was not "creepy" enough for her. She expected darker out of Tim Burton and then she blamed the Disney Company for watering it down. What a critic.
Two of my kids and I have extreme motion sickness and this is why we almost decided not to do the 3D. (I feel yucky during the short shows at Disney, so I didn't know if we could make it through a 2 hour movie). This movie did not bother us at all.
I felt that it was more realistic/ super hi-def than what I think of as a traditional 3D movie. I thought it worked nicely for this film and could see all movies being watched like that in the theater in the future. It was like watching a more vivid version of a regular movie, not a movie with the motion and tricks usually used for 3D. I liked it, but was expecting something a bit more when I heard 3D.
The new digital 3d movies are really more about the depth and vividness of the picture. They are not about the things popping out at you. I love them, but I know not all people do.
LOL about the acid trip, but really isn't the Disney cartoon also that way? Without quite the same visual details.
