Hi,

We just got back from a week at the parks & stayed at the Regal Palms. It was great. We stayed in a 4 bedroom & it was more than enough room for 4 adults & 2 children. The complex is clean & nice. The pool is incredible, but if you are not staying in a condo within the first few streets of the resort, you have to drive to it( we have little ones). The restaurant had good food. We purchased gift certificates from restaurant.com & had no problems. They even let us use them on to-go orders. Hope this helps anyone looking for places to stay. Sbella

I'm glad to hear you had a good time, we are planning to stay there in Dec, and I purchased the restaurant.com certificates as well. Can you use the certificate towards the bill total, after the tax and 18% gratuity are added, or does it only apply to the food total, and you pay the rest out of pocket? (I've never used them before!)

Also, I looked at the menu on the restaurant.com site, but I didn't see a kid's menu. Do they have kid's burgers, etc? I was thinking we could get a take out order of 4 kid's burgers, and maybe have enough "money" left for nachos or wings or something as well.

What was the commute time like to the parks. Namely Epcot and MK? We are thinking of cancelling our two rooms at the POP and staying in a 3 bed. The lazy river looks cool!

DId you encounter a lot of construction? In or around the development, or hear any from right around it? There have been a lot of questions about this lately.

Hi,

FayeW- We purchased 3 gift certificates from restaurant.com. I used one, my DH used one for a to-go order, and my MIL & FIL used one for lunch, all seperate times. As far as I could tell, only the food is covered. The rest is out of pocket. We used a 60% off code to the website, so lunch cost us $4 for the certificate + $4.13 tip for 2 adults & 2 children. The kid's menu is nice. It has burger's (the burgers are good!), PB&J, grilled cheese, even BBQ ribs, I think chicken fingers. You could get 4 kid's meals and an appetizer & probibly only be around $25- $27.

dylansmom1- The commute time was about 15-20 mins. Not bad at all. Don't take I-4 to the parks, take 192. We took I-4 the first few days, then found 192. It shaved alot of time off of our drive & the construction traffic wasn't as bad. The lazy river is great! They also have a zero gravity entrance to the pool for little ones. Basically, that means it's a not steep ramp to enter the pool instead of steps. Our brother & his family (2 adults, 2 kids) stayed at the Port Orleans & personally I think they wasted their money. They spent so much extra time taking Disney transportation that they were always later arriving than the two familys with us that stayed off-site.

kilee- we never came across major construction except on I-4. The only sign of construction in the development was a trailer near the pond. The area was nice & quiet. Sbella

I'm glad to hear you had a great experience at Regal Palms:):)

It looks like a nice place to stay :thumbsup2

Thanks Southernbella, that is exactly the information I needed! We will be arriving on the last day of Nov, so I plan to use one certificate then, and then another later in the week since it will be a new month. I also got mine 60% off!

Don't forget from RP you can use the Sherberth Road turnoff on 192 to get to the parks
