Cant believe how stupid I was, carring a basket full of ironing down the stairs tonight wearing heels, completly lost my footing, lost my balance and went head first down to the bottom, landing with my foot bent right underneath me:scared1: I went down with a bang and laid at the bottom of the stairs until I had enough strength to crawl to my mobile and phone Vicki in work to come home and take me to hospital. I was convinced I had broken my foot or ankle as it swelled up like a balloon and I was in agony.:sad1:

Fortunatly after spending 5 hours in A&E, 4 x-rays and some brilliant strong painkillers and anti-inflammatory tablets, I have only torn the ligaments in the foot, with some pretty impressive brusing to the rest of me. I have to keep it as elivated as I can (will look strange in work tomorrow if I can go) and every two hours soak it in Ice Cold Water. Must remember to take off my shoes before trying that one again:rolleyes1

Ouchhhh :scared1: , That must have been very painful Sue.
Try to take thing easy sending you hugs :grouphug:

:grouphug: Oh Sue, you poor thing. I hope your foot is feeling better this morning

oh you poor thing, big hugs honey, I hope the pain is less this morning x

ouch that must have hurt, hope your foot feels better soon

Poor you that sounds really painful :sad2: Hope it gets better quickly :grouphug:

Poor you, feel so sorry for you and sending you a hug.:grouphug: I hope it isn't painful this morning. I use ralgex and a cold ralgex (called freeze something) alternatively when I have bad muscle pain, it helps, may help you with the inflamation. Plus heat pads will help.

Oh dear, how horrible for you. Ligament damage can be just as painful as a fracture, so try and keep it elevated with an ice-pack on it if you can.

Take care x

Oh you poor thing. Hope you're able to hobble around soon, feet are pretty complicated things, so they can still be tender for a long time..

Ouch! I hope it starts feeling better soon.
Doesn't sound lke you should be going to work though........
You sure you weren't trying to audition for that show "extreme ironing" when they iron up the side of the mountain and such:upsidedow
Have a restful weekend.

Oh no you poor thing Sue. I hope you are feeling a little better this morning.

ouch poor you must of been painful and very scary.
glad alls ok now :goodvibes :goodvibes

Sounds painful, keep soaking it in ice water on & off for 48 hours, after that you can apply heat to it as the inflammation will have finished. Keep it elevated & try to avoid weightbearing.

In a few days, make sure you do rotations in your ankle otherwise you will lose the range of movement, making it harder to move.

Hope you feel better soon. If you need anymore advice as i'm a injury therapist feel free to PM me:thumbsup2

OMG Sue!!!! How painful and scary for you... Please take care and don't try and rush back to work - sending you pixiedust: for a quick recovery...
