Just got back from AKL

Hi everyone,
We just got back from another wonderful stay at AKL.. We got upgraded to the Ostrich Savannah upon check in.. Due to the construction it wasn't the best of Savannah views but we did see the animals As usual everything was great.. The front dest seemed to be extra friendly w/ a new 'Welcome Home' greeting. Boma was exceptional and our son even enjoyed the buffet food I will say the only negative this time is that having an 15 month LO and being so far from MK and long bus rides is not as fun.. The transportation seemed to be really messed up this pass weekend. As we waited 45 minutes at AK for the bus back to AKL. The line was sooo long that not everyone was able to come back. We were also late to ressies at Chef Mickeys for the same reason and we got down there 45 min prior, so then drove after the bus never seemed to come. I think we are going to start staying a little closer to everything until our DS is older. As for the transportation we were told by the drivers that they are on a new computer system and it had been down for a few days. If you have any questions feel free to ask away

Did you ask for an upgrade or did they just give it to you? We are staying in Sept. with a pool view. Is is better to keep the pool view or take an upgrade to a Savannah view with construction?

Hi,
They just gave it to us.. Did not even know it was a Savannah View until we got to our room.. We have had pool view 2x and loved it.. Alot is going on and you can hear the african music playing. If I had a choice to the savannah we were on or the pool I would choose the pool.. We have stayed on another savannah and it was amazing (jsut can't remember which one)

thank you - I agree about the buses. been thinking that the people who say that their bus service at AKL was great. Was not on the same bus as I was...

OKW has much, much better bus service than AKL/V.

when we were there at studios the wait was over an hour - the guy who by the way was standing next to us in Pop, claimed he didn't see us.

really wish Disney would go back to the old system. Let the bus drivers decide.

the new system with the controllers is not working.

Sounds like I am glad I got a rental car for our stay at AKL in Sept.

we just got back a few weeks ago and I would say the bus was great 90% of the time. There where a few times when I noticed that the lines for other busses where getting big, and that we would see 2 or 3 other busses befor one would come. But we where always lucky to not be in that line.
