Things are progressing at the Fort. The 1400 loop is opened (as TCD posted) and the 700 loop is closed & the reno's have started. There are concrete pads poured on the 600 loop extention (some, not all). AND there is a tower at the pool in the slide! YES, Andrew & Donnie.... I DID see it!
The remaining part of the 600 loop only had a few campers in it - the rest of the loops were pretty full, with a BUNCH of people sitting in the check-in lines.
They are holding the afternoon bingo game at the movie center, and there were maybe 8 people playing. It was windy & cool today (72 when we got to the Fort & 69 when we left 2 hours later). As we were leaving, it started to rain!!
Well, it lasted for about 3 minutes, but we'll take what we can get right now.
I saw a Green Mickey sign on 1600 for Disbuf s and on the 500 loop was our own Cockburn Family...all the way from Ontario!!! Neither family was "home", so I couldn't meet them - sorry!
I took some pictures, but they are pretty much duplicates of what TCD posted on the main board...so I won't post them here. Andrew did a very thorough job from his "mini-trip" on 3/13 so, thanks!!!
We ran into 2 couples who are still at the Fort for the winter. One is on 1700 & the other is on 1100. I think most of the other people who winter have either gone to other campgrounds for the remainder of the winter, or have headed home. Now is the time the big, expensive rig's give way to the TT's & pop-up's. It's good to see young families at the Fort!!
Okay... perhaps next Sunday I'll have another update!! It won't be long until 600 is open for business. I'd say within a month or less!!
