I just got back from a 10 day stay (3/16-3/25) with a split stay at Pop Century and Beach Club. I was on the Deluxe Dinning Plan. I did everything from Dumbo to La Cava De Tequila... So if anyone has any questions please feel free to ask.

How were the crowds and did you see many tour groups there?

Glad you had fun!

How'd you like 10 days? We did 10 days for the first time last December (we normally do 5-6) at it was the best trip EVER!!!

Can you tell me about the La Cava De Tequila. Can you do a tequila tasting?

Also did you happen to see if there was a bounce back offer in your room and if so do you know the dates?

I'm curious about the tequila flight as well (if you did that). Where did you all eat? Any good/bad remarks?

Welcome back and hope coming back to reality isn't to tough for you.
Three questions:
How were the fast pass return lines (shorter, same, longer then before)?
How was Disney transportation running (shorter, same, longer waits)?
If you had ADRs, how were they running (on time, shorter wait, long waits)?

Thanks ahead for your responses!

It was crowded, but manageable. I hit almost every ride in all four parks and never waited more than 20 minutes for any ride. It amazes me how many people come to WDW and have no idea how fastpasses work. We saved so much time just understanding the fastpass system.

Tour groups weren't too bad. Most of the tour groups where high school kids on Spring Break and some kids there for band concerts. Very few foreign tour groups.

Loved 10 days... We were able to do everything we wanted without killing ourselves. We didn't feel the need to stay in the park from rope drop to fireworks.

A long WDW trip is something I recommened everyone do at least once

How exactly do fast passes work?

How did you find the deluxe plan? Too much food? How did you do it? I find myself debating between the regular and the delux and I am curious. I am afraid the regular is not enough and the deluxe too much. I am interested in your experiences. Thanks.

Oh and I'm glad you had a good time and I cant wait to go back

When you walk into the Mexico pavilion, when you enter the market place there is bar on your immediate right hand side that reminds you of a cave (thus the name). Inside is tequila heaven. Essentially any type of tequila you can imagine. Plus some of the best margaritas on property (try the avocado. you won’t regret it). The place can maybe hold 40 people. So it will fill up depending on the time of day. I had to wait in line to get in on one of the occasions (I went there three times during my stay :woohoo:).

You can absolutely do a tequila tasting. In fact they offer multiple tequila flights you can try. Little tip: If you follow them on twitter you can get a special $5 tequila shot (best drink deal on property).

There was a bounce back offer in both of my rooms. I don't remember the exact dates (sorry:confused3) but I remember the offer being 35%

There were four of us on the plan. I felt like it was way too much food. When do you ever need to eat an app, entree, and a dessert. Some days we felt nausea from eating so much.

As for trying to eat three sit downs a day... Impossible. We left something like 25 meals on the plan (do the math on that. lots of $ wasted). We only got the plan so my niece could do all the character meals. However, some of the breakfast ressies were at like 8am, and after a night at La Cava De Tequila 8am isn't always an option;).

The real problem with the plan is lunch. We skipped lunch a lot because we were touring the parks and didn't want to stop to eat.

Unless you are a die hard foodie I wouldn't recommend this plan.

We ate at alot of places so I'll name a few and give you my thoughts:

Good:

Boma: Loved It. The carrot ginger soup was the best thing I ate all week. Best buffet we had. Would def. eat there again

Fultons: The lobster and crab combo was also amazing. Plus loved the view from the boat. Our waitress was amazing there

Teppen Edo: Always delivers the goods. Where I had my 30th birthday dinner. I love the food and the selection. Have never had a bad meal there ever. Is a must for me every visit.

Not So Good:

Yachtsmen: Mine, my wife’s, and the guy next to me (I overheard him talking to the waitress) steak were all over cooked. For what you have to pay to eat there is no reason your steak should be anything less than perfect. I like my steaks medium rare and it was medium bordering on medium well.

50's Primetime: The shtick was ok, but the food wasn't that great. Not worth the price. Best thing I had was the milkshakes.

Other places we ate: Chef Mickeys, Cinderella’s Royal Table, Ohana Breakfast, Pop Century Food Court, Cape May, ESPN Zone, Akershus (Norway), San Angel Inn (Mexico), 1900 Park Fare, Crystal Palace (sure I’m forgetting one or two)

If you want to know about one of the other places just let me know

What were your thoughts on the differences between the two resorts? Is it worth it to upgrade to a mod?

Couldn't agree with the OP more on this. We did DxDP back in September, with the thought that we wouldn't have to pay OOP for anything on DxDP but we'd likely have to pay for some things OOP on regular DDP. While we did not pay for anything OOP, we definitely had a lot of left over snack AND meal credits. TS meals are time consuming - each one took us about an hour and a half, sometimes longer, so I can't imagine doing 3 per day. We always just picked at the appetizer and sometimes couldn't eat the dessert and didn't want to hassle getting it to go. We also made the mistake of scheduling a few meals too close together - I thought lunch at 11:30a and dinner at 6:30p would be plenty of time but we were not hungry after the big lunch until about 9pm. We used a lot of snack credits on bottled water just to use them up, which was kind of a waste considering you can get free cups of water. Also, due to the heat, it really wore on us and we just didn't want a big meal like that sometimes. After that trip, we decided we'd try regular DDP next time and then pay OOP for the one or two things we need to.

When we were at the Beach Club, a funny smell was coming out from behind the adult pool. Can you please tell me what that was?
