Just Got Back-Ended Up NOT Staying at CSR

Does anyone have a conventions list for 2008? I am booked at CSR 9/19 - 9/28/08, and I was going to extend my stay a couple days either in front or after these dates. Having a huge convention checking in or out on one of these weekends would really make my decision for me! Thanks!

Lists pop up in the CSR info thread now and then. Keep in mind, though, that all conventions aren't listed, and dates/groups change. It's that way at any convention resort. I've thought, since my stay at CSR, that it would be wonderful if CSR gave discounted rates vs the other mods. The price break would make the possible inconvenience less bothersome. Vegas does this, it's not unheard of in the industry.

That's a great idea, but I doubt if it would ever happen. It seems to stay booked as is. :thumbsup2

We were there 9/22-9/29. It was wonderful until about Wed evening, then at least three different organizations were there. We were in Casita 3 right by the quiet pool and had loved quiet evenings by the pool but by Thurs there were no more quiet nights or days. We were surprised by the number of children that were in the pool during the day and often in the evening with no adults in sight. Scared the dickens out of me!

We would go back, but would probably go during a quieter time of year. The resort was beautiful and we loved our 1st four days, but the last 3 days...not so much.

So glad that everything worked out and WELCOME HOME!!. DVC is one of the best timeshares I have and would be the last one I'd ever sell. Just think in a few years - you can vacation in Hawaii too. I just love the amenities even in a studio it is just so much more convenient. Wait till you try the 1 and 2 bedroom experience. That jacuzzi tub is fantastic and to be able to spread out and really relax on vacation is just wonderful. Enjoy AKL, that is next on my list.

Just when you think of upgrading to a mod, you start hearing all kinds of bad things! I thought about POR but read how awful the transport is there. Then I thought about CSR but I would not like being around drunk and noisy convention people. I have 2 little ones. Something is telling me to go back to ASMo!

Famsen: I'm happy you were able to move from CSR and loved SSR!

Kinda :offtopic:, but not too far... I was wondering if there's a website that maintains a schedule of conventions in WDW.

I think I am being the watchdog for Mod related thread but I can't stop mentioning this.:)

Please do not take ALL of the bad words about the resort you are staying.
Buzz can explain that how wonderful CSR is.;) Everybody has different taste, opinion and experience, so there is no way one thread can "generalize" the grade of resorts. some people say CSR is bad, but the opinions are based on their personal experience. (And OP is saying it was just one time incident, She "loved" CSR before this and she is also mentioning that it was only her personal experince) And they are not official survey or anything.
A lot of people loves CSR. and other prefer other Mod resorts. A lot of people keep going back to POR/CSR/CBR/POFQ, their favorite resorts.

It is good to read through both good and bad comment about the resort
you are planning to stay but it is not good idea to be swayed by "one" experience. your experience in future may be different from others.

You are right, it is unreasonable to let just one bad report steer you away from a particular resort. But after the OP's post there are at least 6 others who had the same experience of crowds of drunk and noisy convention goers. I visited Buzz's site and CSR looks very nice but so do alot of other resorts where you don't have to put up with all that. I truly think the All Stars are the most family oriented of the WDW resorts.
