Just got back - disturbing theme....

I can only conclude from your comments that the reason castmembers flee Disney is ..... more respect elsewhere.

We all know Disney considers their entry-level castmembers disposable....and the castmembers know it.

How sad - the clarity of view from inside.
Wow. You really know how to take a post and make it say what you think it should mean. :) I wrote the post and I can't imagine how what I wrote leads to that conclusion!

Clearly, you or someone you know has had a bad experience inside Disney, and I'm sorry for that. But to take the experiences of a few people and assume that they represent the entire entry-level cast as a whole is somewhat overstating.

Yes ... there are people feeling underappreciated by Disney. I'll bet just as many feel as though Universal treated them like crap. Are there people who leave Disney feeling as though they get no respect? You bet. Do people leave Universal, SeaWorld and other companies for the same reason? Yup.

My point -- which you so completely missed -- was that different people have different priorities. If the overall compensation packages are basically the same, then which job you take is based on how those packages are divided out between different items. Some people will choose one employer over another because they get better benefits or because the pay is higher. Some people prefer work to be closer to home or to have better public transportation options. Some people want to work where their friends work. Others care about theme park perks or scheduling. Not everyone who leaves one employer for another does it because Employer #1 was mistreating them.
