I wanted to write and let everyone out there know that we had a wonderful experience using Alamo. I definitly would recommend them to everyone. Really I barely noticed a difference between them and National. We used QS so we got to bypass the wait inside the airport and went straight to the garage. Inside the garage there was no wait and it took about 3 minutes before I was off to get my car.
We got an awesome rate we paid $313.31 for 18 days and rented a mini-suv. When we got there the mini-suvs were gone to they gave a full-size suv with a thrid row seat. We got to pick the one we wanted. I would have liked to have used the online check-in, but I had a coupon I wanted to use. By the way I used the Costco rate.
I would definitly use Alamo again. Either National or Alamo will get my business on my next trip. I am glad I went with the cheaper of the two this time around.

Thanks for the report!
Seems as though the Alamo reports have been positive lately, which is good to hear.

We've rented with Alamo for at least the last 7 trips or so. Call us lucky, but we made out fine each time, especially the last time with Quick Silver.

We're going for a short trip in June (going for a Star Wars Weekend), and have a minivan reserved with Alamo. For the 3 day rental, the total with taxes came to $69, using a $25 Entertainment Book coupon.

Thanks again...

Thanks for the report. The inside Alamo line is what deters me. I'll have to check out QS.

On Mousesavers it says QS entitles you to wait in a different line, not go straight to the garage. How does that work at MCO?

At MCO you need to follow the signs for Alamo/National in the Garage. Once you get upstairs you will see the place where you need to go, but make sure you have QS before you get up there because they will send you back inside. When I was there no one else was in line.

Yes we did the same thing with QS at the MCO airport, walked right out to the R2 level of the parking garage entered the booth, they confirmed the credit card and drivers license number and then we picked our vehicle. Alamo was great no problems with pick up or return either.

Emily,

We booked a trail blazer, what vehicle did you get with a 3rd row?

It was a Trailblazer, but I think it may have been the only one in line that day that had the thrid row. It looks like they have both regular with 2 rows and extended with the fold down third row. If you want the third be sure to look through all of the SUV's.

Have Fun

Did they ask for your Costco card? Were you on the A or B side? I'm wondering if the procedure for QS is the same either side. We have always used National, and I have never gone up to the 2nd floor of the garage. Do you have to drag your luggage up stairs?

Thanks for the info. We are using Alamo for the first time in May so I was hoping there would be some reports before then. We are members of *********** so I hope we have the same luck as you!

Sounds great, I am another who loved Emerald Aisle, but has switched to QS with Alamo for the lower rates. Do you get to pick out your vehicle with Alamo/QS? And you go straight to the garage?

Just an FYI: I had a QS card for many years, not sure if I ever used it. I got to worrying if it still had a valid credit card registered with it, and could not access my account online to check. Seems the newer QS cards have ALL numbers, mine was the older alpha-numeric. I called and they told me this, and switched my reservation to the new all number one. They will send me out a temp card, and a permanent one after that. They had to redo my reservation, and override it to let me keep the same rate. New reservation number, etc. But now I am all set to use the QS line, credit card still valid, too.

Could someone give me exact directions to the QS terminal in the garage? We will be arriving on United with just carry ons so we will bypass baggage claim.

Thanks

Hi,
At Level One: Ground Transporation, exit the main part of the terminal.
Exit near where the in-terminal Alamo (and the other) rental counters are.

Follow the (Alamo) sign & cross the street to the parking garage.

Either use the escalator or elevator to the 2nd. floor of the garage.

If taking the escalator, make a right towards the Quick Silver booth. If taking the elevator, make a left. The Quick Silver booth isn't far from escalator/elevator - (you'll be able to see it.)

We were at the Quick Silver booth maybe 5 minutes, and we were on our way.

Hope this helps:)

No they did not ask me for a Costco card. We were on the A side, we always fly jetBlue. There is an elevator that you can take to the second floor that way you don't have to lug your suitcases up the esculator.

We had rented a small SUV. You go right to the garage if you have QS, do not make the mistake and wait in the line inside the terminal. Once we got to the QS line in the garage they asked me for my drivers liscense and the Credit card that I used for the reservation. Then they told me to go to the SUV lane and pick out my car. That the keys were in the door. It felt just like the emeral aisle except I did have to go to the QS desk for a couple of minutes.

Thanks Mark P. Exactly the kind of directions I was looking for!

Our flight arrives about 10:00pm. What are the hours of the QS booth in the garage?

Thanks!

Uh oh, you got me on that one.
I would think the QS Booth would be open 24/7, but hopefully someone will reply that knows for sure.
Just in case, here's the number to Alamo at Orlando Airport: (407)855-4170

I just called and checked. They are open 24/7 in the garage according to the rep. I talked to. :thumbsup2

Hi,
The boards have "disabled" the term QS word because of a Towncar company with the same name caused some issues on the boards a while back.

As far as the prepay option goes, I don't think it can be done with QS.

However, coupons and codes are accepted when using QS.

I tried to sign us up for QS today and ran into a glitch. We only use a Debit/Credit card and they are saying they will not accept any form of Debit cards for QS. :guilty:

So it appears we will have to stand in the terminal line! How bad is it going to be in the late afternoon in mid May? We are hoping to be able to have ADR's for dinner but I am afraid we are going to be hung up in line forever. What should we expect?
