Any idea why TSMM would be cancelled?

Sounds like the park will be closing by 8:00.

I got the same message....mine was also for TSMM on 7/5 from 9-10pm. I was thinking it may have to do with the Frozen fireworks??? I wonder if this is considered a fallout zone? Does anyone know if TSMM was closed during the SWW fireworks?

Yeah, that has to be it.

Must be maintenance????

Checking the schedule that day DHS is open till 10 with EMH late. Wouldn't think the fireworks would be going off would happen so early.

I hope not. Regular park hours are until 10pm, and then EMH from 10pm-12am that day.

At a minimum, the ride will be closed by 8:00. "Operational Reasons" means that either the park is closed or the ride is closed.

During SWW the area around TSMM was closed each evening promptly at 8pm for the fireworks, and fireworks didn't start until 9 or 9:30. So they probably have to clear out that area at that time since they added the Frozen fireworks.

Ooh, good point. Maybe they close down that area early?

Yes, they do. Left a show at 8:15 and they were already in the process of barricading that area in advance of the Star Wars fireworks. they were awaiting all the guests to get out of TSM before they shut the area down.

I think the fireworks are are at either 9:15 or 9:45pm. So, that would overlap with my 9-10pm FP+.

I was there for a Stars Wars weekend. That area of the park closed before the fireworks show and did not reopen.

Found this when I was looking through the thread about the new Frozen Summer events at DHS:

"Something for everyone to keep in mind is that, for the duration of this event, TSMM, One Man's Dream and Legend of Capt. Jack Sparrow will close at 8:30pm because of safety issues with fireworks fall out.
Also Great Movie Ride will close at 8pm. On this I'm not completely sure but I think they re-open GMR faster than TSMM because there's less fireworks fall out.
On days that the park closes at 10pm they will not re open.
When the park closes later TSMM and Jack Sparrow will most likely open around 10:20pm to 10:30pm"

So, I have a stupid question. When I go into my FP+ now, I see I only have 2 Fastpasses. I can cancel them and re-book 3 of them. Do you think I then also get an extra one to use any time based on this:

Do you think I should leave my current 2 alone, or cancel them and book 3?

I just looked at it and tried. Don't move anything. According to the email, we didn't lose the FP. You can pick any of the attractions listed in the email but just a different time of day. Works out if you want to do ToT twice in a row! Besides with everyone receiving the same email you may not get what you originally scheduled.

I got the same email… this is crap we schedule fastpasses for the popular rides and then lose it??
