Just got a great deal at Dollar

I don't know if this should go here, or on the Budget board. after looking at rates all week for a 2-week minivan rental over christmas 2006, and being very frustrated at the $1200 after tax prices (too soon for the codes on mousesavers) i tried dollar tonight on a whim with no codes at all and got the total price after taxes down to $550. WOW!!! a $650 savings!!

i'm posting here in case this helps anyone else.

absolutely no idea.

i guess just persevering. i called them after making the ressie to check on the $7/day for DH to also drive. wanted to know if i could somehow get the benefit of the wal-mart code which includes the extra driver free. agent said if i did that the rate would go up, so we didn't.

i just tried it and the 219/wk isn't popping up anymore. i wonder if it had to do with the time of day at all? the agent did say to me that the rates change frequently....

WTG~I booked a couple of weeks ago (Premium - Chrysler Pacifica or similar) for a 10 day rental and didn't think I had a terrible rate at $450 using the KISS code. Well lo and behold I checked again today without a code and it automatically gave me the RWUW8 code and my rental came down to $285 with all the taxes, etc. Just goes to show that you need to check and recheck those rental rates!

I have been checking off and on too for Christmas 2006 and I am frightened! Yikes by this time last year I had an awesome rate for 2 weeks. Oh well I will keep trying.
