Okay just found out I'm pregnant. Probably 7-8 weeks now. That puts me about 10 and 11 weeks while there. My dilemma is the rides. We won't tell my kids until I'm out of first trimester because of past problems. I usually am an avid rider of all rides. I know i will come up with some creative ideas, but just wondering if anyone else has had this experience. Actually my mom is going with us too, so I'll have to see if I can fool her as well. We're going for 2 full weeks, so we'll see . My other concern is I usually have horrible morning/day/night sickness. My motto has always been " I can be sick anywhere" however toilets aren't so easily accessible . Please anyone whom has gone through this, write me of your experiences. to add the finishing touch we will be driving for 18 hours each way, and I usually battle motion sickness in the car.

I guess some will say to call off the trip, but I'd rather be there with some good "mickey" vibes than sitting at hom worrying. Besides my kids (11 and 7) would be so dissapointed. Help me out if you can...Thanks::MickeyMo

I don't have allot of first hand experience in going to WDW while pregnant, I just wanted to let you know that I think it is wonderful news and to take care of yourself!:bounce:

What helps with morning sickness/nausea is coke syrup. Your local pharmacy may not have it but they may be able to order it for you.

Congratulations! Ginger Ale helped me a lot with the morning sickness. Even ginger cookies helped. Is there any way you could fly and meet up with the rest of your family? 18 hours in the car feeling sick does not sound like a great way to begin and end a vacation. :D

Congratulations!

I would tell your mom before you go. Women, especially those who have had children, pickup on the "signs" very easily.

Ask your doctor about B12. I had shots of this vitamin to help with my morning sickness and you may be able to take a pill and get the same results.

My pregnancy sickness advice is to never let your stomach get empty because that's when the nausea seems to happen. I ate a ton of popcorn (which I don't eat normally) because it's low cal and filling. Peanut butter is filling but not low cal. Just bring lots of snacks with you.

I agree, go ahead and tell your mom. She'll make sure you take it easy and will probably figure it out anyway.

Take your prenatal vitamins at night-I know when I took them in the morning I got sick(only a few times). When I started taking them at night I didn't have any more problems.

Maybe you'll be lucky and not have morning sickness this time. Since you're already 7-8 weeks if it hasn't started yet, mine always started immediately.

I was pregnant about the same time frame that you will be going to WDW about 4 years ago. Check with your OB/GYN regarding the rides. Mine told me that I could go on anything that didn't go upsidedown. So, that only left out Rockin' Rollercoaster. I went on all and was fine, but now that I look back I wonder what in the world I was doing on Space Mountain:rolleyes: .

I didn't have morning sickness with my first pregnancy, so I have no suggestions there.

Just stopping to wish you guys congratulations, Camping Griswalds. My best to you for a safe and comfortable pregnancy. Stop by the Community Board to let everyone know the happy news, and update every so often. :wave2:

We were in WDW in October when I was 20 weeks pregnant and my 24 hour a day morning sickness had just ended about a week before we left for the trip. I didn't go on anything that said pregnant women should avoid except for the Safari since I figured the DC roads are just as bad! We did, however, go on a 2 week Alaskan cruise/land vacation when I was 6-8 weeks and I was horribly ill the whole trip. I still went on our planned excursions, including horseback riding, and I was okay, but after a few hours out, I was pretty much back in the room lying on my side. Also, the smells of many different foods in the restaurants made me much sicker so I ended up not really eating during the trip, which in turn made me weaker and not wanting to do anything. Overall though, the trip was enjoyable and I'm glad we didn't cancel, but I definitely had to go at a much slower pace and skip many things I would have otherwise done. Good luck with the pregnancy and have a good time!!

WOW, this is fantasitc!!!! I can't say much more than I am so happy for you!!! great combat for morning sickness: coke syrup, available at most any pharmacy.

No experience with pregnency yet - but congratulations.

I also used Coke for morning sickness. Actually drank a Coke when I got up (not the syrup, but the pop!).

Maybe you should tell Mom, but for the kids, I'd tell then that you have an ear infection that makes you dizzy and the doctor said you shouldn't go on any rides that can make it worst. That won't seem scary, as I'm sure they've had a few ear infection that they remember! Then you can tell them, when and if you are feeling poorly, that your "ear" is acting up and you should probably skip this ride!

There are still tons of attractions you can do with them. And congrats! What a wonderful world!

Thanks so much for every ones support and congratulations!!! Just to let you know I lost 23 pounds my first pregnancy and 13 my second from morning sickness. The only reason why I haven't told my mom is I'm sure she'll think I'm nuts to be doing this again. Not in a nosy/interfering way, just in a concerned way. I know from experience that the only thing that seems to help me is time, although the first preg I was sick 8 months. However I am older (35 instead of 23) now and do know that a big trick is to eat a little all day. I was told that when you get sick or don't eat that your blood sugar drops and that this is what keeps you continueing to get sick. i have been trying that out, and so far have just had a lot of nausea. I will tell you though that it is easier said than done if you are nauseaus to put something in your mouth!!!

The advice about the ear infection sounds awesome!! My oldest is 11 and he's pretty perceptive, so that is just the kind of fib that will work for him.

as far as the post about all of the rides except the upside down ones, that sounds just like my OB. I think that at these beginning weeks there is so much cusion, that its really not that much different than the lovely driving experience we had in the snow in the Poconos a couple of weeks ago. Talk about sharp turns and sliding and bumps and sudden stops!!! And all of that was unplanned!!! I'll see how well I feel in general before I even get on Buzz or Pooh not to mention Space!

All in all I'm so thrilled to be pregnant again and excited about our trip, that I'm hoping the positive vibes will erase any ill feelings.::yes::

congratulations!!!

I was at Disney during my week 7 in November and the only things I didn't ride were not because of the pregnancy but because the 3 year old couldn't go on them. We did do the Dinosaur ride at DAK and I didn't have any problems. I agree about eating small amounts all day long...I was really nauseous the entire trip but I kept enough snacks in my bag that neither my son nor myself needed to buy anything. I am not suffering the low blood sugar constantly and that makes me feel sick during the day....go for the proteins and skip the carbs! Try to eat your main meals with lots of protein and save the sweet for the little in between snacks.

Good luck being in a car with 2 kids, your mother AND a husband!!!

Keep us posted
