We plan on buying a Mickey Waffle Iron, a small crock pot and beach towels. What things did you buy and bring the 1st time or still buying to take with you. We're planning our 1st trip home in June and would like ideas on what everyone takes with them.:goodvibes

Coffee filters and a bag of coffee. They provide you with enough coffee to make one pot so if you are planning to drink coffee every morning, you will need coffee and filters.

1st time I brought a poncho that I never used.....I can't be in 90 degrees wearing plastic:confused3

Now like PP said.....always bring my own coffee.

This time I am also getting an twin air mattress.

We bought Disney big figs, hundreds of pins, entire beanie lines, a dozen ceramic mugs . . . and much more on our 1st visit to either WDW or to DL.

The bad part was that we're from Canada. We got hit very bad at customs on the way home from these trips - and we had to haul it all home on multiple airplans (no direct flights), with even paying the horrendous shipping charges to get some larger items home ($200 shipping for a $175 big fig).

Our trips are getting better for merchandise . . . nowhere near as bad as our 1st. We've actually been in our customs limit (barely) of $1500 for the two of us in our last few Disney parks trips.

Since we usually stay in Studios because it is just my DH, DD and myself, I ship a box with a single tabletop burner, an all purpose pan, real silverware, a sharp knife, coffee filters, coffee, tea bags, brita water bottles w/filters and maybe some decorations for holiday trips. Sometimes I include some non-perishable food like cereal, granola bars, etc...less things to buy once in FL. If you are in a room with a full kitchen, you won't need this but definitely bring coffee and filters! My DH can not exist without his Dunkin(black,) every morning. We also bring/buy hot cups with lids to take coffee and tea into the parks in the morning.

Have a wonderful time on your trip!!

We need to bring a toaster because DD has allergies and cannot use the toaster in the room. Will also bring a crock pot or may just buy one there to keep in the Owners Locker. Already have a little list for my OL.

We really didn't buy anything (except a pizza cutter when we got down there), but we do always bring certain items.

Mickey Waffle Iron
Crock Pot
Cookie Sheet
Quesadilla Maker
Plastic Containers (Gladware, Ziploc, etc.)
Salt/Pepper

We tend to have breakfast in the room every day and a couple of lunches and dinners. If we go at the holidays (and sometimes at other times as well) we also bake cookies in our room at least once. I pre-measure all of the dry ingredients and put them in ziploc bags. Then we make sure we pick up the rest of the items we need on our grocery run. There's nothing like the smell of baking cookies in your villa! Mmmmmmm!

Power Strip (never enough plugs for all the chargers we have)
Night Lights (We put in the kids room and LR so they can get to our room)
Foldable Laundry Baskets

We got a few new things to leave in our OL...

waffle iron
twin air mattress & sheets (for when not at AKV)
griddle for pancakes
water pitcher
dryer sheets
laundry detergent & dishwasher tabs
night lights
power strips

Bottled water
Cereal
Snack foods
Own laundry detergent/dryer sheets
Own pillows/blankets
Learned the lesson about the coffee filters and coffee...Disney coffee is NOT the best! :sad2:

Wow! I pick up beer, soda, milk and water (maybe a snack or two) at the Hess station and I'm good to go.

Not the first time, I didn't know better, but the second time, we brought larger ceramic mugs for a studio stay!

Thanks for the good ideas all!! Never thought about the Mickey waffle maker, I love to get them when we are at Disney.:lovestruc

Do you know we have three things in common: LOL

My name is Denise, we are DVC members and I have 3 kids with food allergies.

Thanks for posting this........I would have never ever thought about using a different toaster!!!:scared1: We always use the toaster and my three kids have severe peanut allergies and my one son has tree nut too.

Coffee, filters, sugar, creamer, salt & pepper (the disposable kind you get for camping), laundry detergent and dryer sheets. We make a run to Publix or Walmart for everything else. I also usually take a Ziploc bag with the little packs of condiments and tiny jars of jelly we seem to collect between trips.

For a studio, I'll either take or buy plastic plates, bowls, glasses, heavier-duty plastic "silverware" and a few plastic storage containers with lids - the Glad or Ziploc kind that can be microwaved. And a mesh laundry bag.

Or there's the sneaky method for a studio - order a room service meal and "borrow" a few of the dishes until you leave. Not that I'd ever do that, of course.;)

gee - I do bring folding laundry basket, a bag of DD coffee and some sugar and some ziplocks. If the grocery store has the tide in the boxes - $1.00 aisle, I will grab some of those and some dryer sheets - but thats about it. We order food from Disney or Goodings to be delivered, and that's it. We will eat breakfast in most days, and will occasionally be there for lunch, but I don't cook real meals in the room.

We have a little "stash" of things that goes each time. It containsrain ponchos, shampoo and conditioner, tooth brushes, tooth paste, coffee, filters, water filter, picnic salt and pepper shakers, sugar, a few spices, plastic wrap, pan spray, laundry detergent and a griddle. The other food items we buy down there, and now that we plan to do an owners locker starting with our next trip, we will be stocking that and wont have to pack all that stuff anymore!

We don't take one of those to WDW with us, but it is a lifesaver (okay...spacesaver) on the cruise! We take one every time we sail and it really helps to keep the cabin so much neater.
